Uptown Junk(Food) - Edit
Glory be that this paragon of plant-based debauchery in Dubai finally has a presence in Uptown. Somehow springing up without my knowledge, as soon as I caught wind of its existence, I could think of little else but the gluttonous feast that would ensue when I finally got even the faintest opportunity to ideally visit or, failing that, at least place an order. Well, the chance for the latter presented itself first, and there was barely a chance for a first thought, let alone a second, before a surfeit of sultry snacks was speeding its way to my locale.
Read moreAnd my word, how they did not disappoint! Whether it was fries, wraps, or burgers, everything had the genuine pleasure of being crammed into my face, which was stupendous.
Of course, tried and tasted favourites were most prevalent amongst the spoils – the hot dog was divine as ever – but the one newbie, the Heinz collab Rio De Janeiro burger, was a stellar augmentation.
If all this majesty wasn’t enough, the team at the kiosk included a charming gift in the form of a handful of lotus biscuits and a note that contained instructions for an additional discount. I like to think it’s because they're so impressed with the size of my haul, but more likely it’s just that they’re lovely people.
Though frustratingly located just too far out of my reach to make it a regular haunt (or fortuitously so for both my bank balance and my waistline), I am going to do everything in my power to make myself a loyal patron of this outlet whenever I can.
