Good stuff - Edit
Very good food, friendly staff made this place a good find in downtown Salem. The Thai bowl and the sweet potato fries were very good. The garlic sesame tofu rice plate's tofu had good flavor but the veggies could have had more. We'd go back though.

Delicious food and great staff - Edit
We ate lunch at Venti's. Since we had never eaten there before we had a lot of questions about the mention. The person at the register was very patient and actually happy to answer our questions. She even brought me a sample of the soba noodles so I could see if I liked the flavor of the sauce I would be getting.
Read moreWhile not all the options are vegetarian, almost all start as vegetarian entrees and you pay extra to add chicken, fish, etc. Our plates both included a great assortment of vegetables. The food is flavored with actual spices and not salty as one often finds in other restaurants. Our only complaint was the desserts were extrememly unhealthy and heavy. They should at least offer a fruit plate or salad if they don't want to offer a cobbler or crisp. Creme brulee and flourless chocolate torte, while tasty, are simply heart attacks on a plate. They are also laden with calories so don't help their guests easily maintain a healthy weight.
We loved the food, enjoyed the experience, and even discovered they have a separate vegan menu to make it easy for vegan diners to not have to sort through an entire menu. There were many options on that menu, too.
Pros: Tasty food, great variety of vegetables, Food flavored with spieces, not salt
Cons: 2 unhealthy dessert options, no fruit

Allergy sensitive, friendly service and yummy food - Edit
If anyone is ever in Salem, I highly recommend Venti's Cafe! On top of having a designated gluten free menu and labeling the vegan dishes, they happily check the dish I wanted and sauces for soy and corn! My meal was amazing too! A great mix of brown rice, beans, veggies and fresh spices with sweet chili sauce on top :) I will definitely remember their "happy help attitude" that makes me feel safe eating and tasty food! And of course, any place with kombucha is great in my book!

this place rocks - Edit
There are two locations, one downtown and one on Commercial/Alice. This review is for Commercial/Alice.
Read moreTerrific selection of Vegan options - the menu is broken into Apps, Flatbreads, Sandwiches, Bowls, etc. and each section has at least one (often 2-3) vegan options.
They have TWO vegan burger options.
They have an entire section of vegan/veg bowls.
The vegan flatbread is delicious for an appetizer.
You can add organic + GMO-free tofu to anything for $3.
They have outdoor seating., great if the weather is cooperating.
The beer selection is large.
We are from out of town and usually starve when we visit family up here...so we will be back regularly.

Venti's! - Edit
Venti's is a restaurant in downtown Salem which serves many vegan and veggie options. I like the veggie tofu plate myself with a purple haze beer on the side, it always gets the job done. There is a speakeasy bar downstairs for the folks of age. It is very comfortable with tables and chairs in a dim light, the bartenders are very friendly and the beers are just fine. If you are looking for a place to eat in Salem, this is the place.
