Goodness. It’s been so long since we had a review claiming our food was tasteless that we’re a bit flummoxed about how best to respond! We remember your visit. You came in on Saturday with a friend about 20 minutes before we closed for the evening. There were three other groups when you arrived. You ordered two dishes Homemade Ravioli and the jollof bowl. We explained that our avocados weren’t ripe and wouldn’t taste their best, so we provided you with a large amount of freshly grilled, organic veggies as a hearty subsititue. Both you and your companion cleaned your plates! We’re very sorry to hear you didn’t care for any of the food you devoured, but perhaps you missed the spirit of our cuisine. Our Bowls are comprised of beautifully organic, minimally processed and thoughtfully composed dishes with flavors that act in harmony to create a satisfying and fulfilling vegan dining experience. The salad you mentioned is meant to be a refreshing palate cleanser, and thusly cannot be doused in heavy dressings. Similarly, our fresh plantains are caramelized and require no other flavoring but their own delicious sweetness! At AtayaCaffe we respect the bounty the Earth provides us and do not feel it necessary to distort their excellence with heavy sauces, high salt, or artificial flavors. We are grateful for our amazing patrons who agree and support this perspective! Best, The Team @ AtayaCaffe
