Eccezionale!! - Edit
Consigliatissimo.

Amazing afro-italian culinary experience - Edit
We had such an amazing moment in Ataya. This plant-based restaurant which offer a fusion of Italian and African food is a must try in Berlin. A little outside the main street of the city, this place is a safe haven (and heaven) to enjoy good food and a relaxing moment. Here, you will find no processed food, no waste in the kitchen but delicious and beautiful dishes. We got to try their fresh smoothies as well an Italian dish (Homemade raviolis) and an African one (Toloff bowl). Although we were already very satisfied with the main dish, we shared their famous Vegan Tiramisu: as airy as it is tasty.
Read moreI'd highlight suggest you coming for a few hours to discuss with friends on the sharing tables (no laptop policy for more interaction) or even to come for their Sunday brunch.
The team is on top of that really friendly. No wonder it got rated as Berlin's best vegan restaurant on Happy Cow :)
Pros: Cosy interior, Original dishes, Flavors

Amazing and special ! - Edit
I had my favorite meal at this lovely restaurant. The flavors are memorable even to this day a year later. They have a bright and clean environment with light ,plants natural decor and a focus on the incredible homemade food. Savory and sweet. Plus the best vegan Tiramisù I’ve ever encountered. Certainly coming back on my next Berlin trip!

Best vegan brunch! - Edit

food OK - Edit
I don't really understand the many positive reviews of this place. Food is OK, but nothing spectacular. Some cold dishes like the pasta portion in the breakfast combo didn't taste good at all. Place is nice, but there is no service (you have to order and pay at the counter), no toilets and only cash is accepted (hello Finanzamt!).

Special place with amazing food - Edit
The high ratings on Happycow did not lie: this place was amazing. You can feel the passion of the people behind the company in everything: the food, the atmosphere, the happiness in their voices, the furniture... I've never been to such a place before! We shared one Italian and one African dish and had a tiramisu as well as smoothies. All had a great taste and the ingredients were super fresh. 100% recommend!

Simply amazing! - Edit
I am a mixed African, Asian and Brit and throughly loved this mix of Flavours. The setting is of a community, and has lovely African decor, reminiscent of my mother’s home. Food is quality, tasty, and the owners super friendly and warm. Me and my partner found this place from a YouTube video of vegan food spots to visit in Berlin and we were not disappointed.

Grazie to the owners who have catered us so well today. As bloggers we look for inspirational places where we observe the vibe and energies around us wherever we go. Ataya Café is a soul food place with loving vibes n great hosts. We loved the brunch with its culture influences of Italy and African combined. The owners are so lovely. Looking at the houseful place today, you see many ppl have found their Sunday’s home living spot. Highly recommend the place plus no plastic and zero waste policy!😄

We were unfortunately very disappointed. We called first to ask if we should make a resveration, but we're told to just come by. However, when we arrived it seemed to be a problem.

Very authentic and delicious brunch - Edit
Updated from a review left in 2016:
Read moreAtayaCaffe has a very cosy, authentic, and family-friendly vibe about it, with an assortment of mismatched seating, a play area, and good wifi. The owners are always around and it really feels like a cosy and familial place. It's dark and moody which is what I like.
Since I first went, the menu has expanded beyond an already very large variety of hot drinks and nice teas, and a daily changing lunch menu. They have an Italo-Senegalese vegan brunch which I brought an omni friend to. It was so good - especially the curries and the plantain, and I will for sure bring my partner to it. Elisabetta was very communicative via email and I was able to easily reserve a table. The lack of tap water is a shame but I also completely understand - especially for brunch buffets, that drinks are an important way for places to make an income. Maybe tap water if another drink is ordered is a nice compromise?
I liked AtayaCaffee a lot more this second time I came - maybe because it is more established in concept, but also because when I first came there were a lot of children around and I was feeling a bit anti-social. A family-freindly vibe can be a good or bad thing depending on who and how you are - for me I prefer quiet places, but especially in Pberg it is nice to have spaces where people can bring their children to enjoy good vegan food too! I will for sure have to come again and try their non-brunch offering to compare to the delicious and filling brunch :)
Thank you again both for the excellent lunch and a lovely environment for my friend and I to catch up in!
Also, as a side note, I really think it is important and good to support diverse vegan businesses - the fact that this isn't your typical yoga-girl white and euro-centric Buddha bowl establishment is actually incredibly refreshing - there is a lot of quality and representation of cuisines I have never eaten even as an omnivore, and I applaud Ataya for leading the way so effectively on this

Je ne comprends pas l'indication de prix qui est affectée pour ce merveilleux restaurant. 10€ pour un plat très très généreusement fourni (et je suis un gros mangeur)... Que demander de plus.
