We ordered an Amazing jollof bowl with fried plantains and an african chutney , and their huge breakfast plate which consists in african/italian tapas.... SO YUMMY and beautifully presented.
The staff was really lovely and service was quick.
It's a plastic free restaurant and they don't use paper napkins .
I like to support this kind of authentic vegan independent business.
Just go there and enjoy the great vibes, music, books and the best vegan food in the world!

This cafe serves amazing and eclectic food. A limited menu but the options are delicious. We had the jollof rice dish and the African curry dishes, the plantain was done perfectly! We sat here for hours, just enjoying the chilled out music and reading the magazines. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend going to their Sunday All-You-Can-Eat Brunch. Amazingly fresh, taste, and healthy buffet options that are all 100% vegan. When we went the buffet had a couple different types of bread, salad, hummus, pasta dishes, rice dishes, veggie side dishes, and desserts. Everything we had was delicious. The buffet is reasonably priced and definitely worth it if you come hungry. The place is quite small so you may have to wait for a table.

A vegan Afro-Italian dream! - Edit
Today I had the pleasure to have breakfast at Ataya Caffe for the first time. The cafe is beautiful and cozy with big tables. The cafe is owned by a lovely Afro-Italian couple. The vegan food is incredibly delicious, healthy and prepared with a lot of love. The portions are really big and make you satisfied. A special recommendation is breakfast on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Ataya Café is a place where you can make yourself comfortable and I'm happy to come back!

Pedi a African Bowl (10€) para almoçar. O prato era quase o dobro das dimensões da minha cabeça mas estava tão DELICIOSO que saiu limpo. Não consegui arranjar espaço para a sobremesa, o que é uma pena porque os bolos/tartes tinham um aspeto maravilhoso.
O staff é super-simpático e disponível! A senhora que me atendeu até ofereceu um chá enquanto esperava pela minha nota (€) ser trocada. Adorei. Recomendo a qualquer um.

I love the warm and cozy atmosphere there, and the food is quite amazing. One of my most favorite dishes is the hummus plate, and also I’ve eaten the best ravioli there. The coffee is also really good I can highly recommend this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read moreThe food is really good, warm as well as cold plates and very authentic african and Italien dishes. The owners are lovely ( an african-italian couple with cute Kids) and try to make all the guests feel comfortable. Was a great experience again and I would recommend! :)

The flavours were spectacular! We tried two Ciabatta paninis and they were bursting with delicious flavour. The portions were bigger than we expected. Also, the coffee was quite nice! The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed, and best of all, the owners were extremely friendly, genuine, warm-hearted people. Highly recommend! Perfetto!

We had the joloff bowl with plantains which was spicy at the point and wonderfully presented.
My partner had the hummus bowl and he said was the best hummus ever !
I strongly raccomend the African /italian Sunday brunch .
With only 15€ all you can eat (buffet ) more than 25 specialties .
We had the chance to visit Ataya 3 times during our stay in Berlin.

IF you are in Berlin in sunday, and you want a breakfeast which give you lot of energy to explore the city, i trully recommend the sunday brunch!
It’s very crowded at sunday, but it’s really worth the waiting! Varied types of foods, you can easily combinate them, everything was delicious, and the owner was really kind and helpful!

Not only the all-vegan food is absolutely amazing, also is the staff super friendly and the atmosphere is amazing and very comfortable. I have tried the hummus with bread, which was the best hummus I might ever had.

We went there for the Sunday 15€ brunch. The food was simply Devine. Wow, so tasty! Apple pie and banana brownies for dessert was also very nice (but be sure to snag them first as they run out). What I didn't like was being seated at the tiny table low to the ground and in front of the entrance. People constantly went in and out, often leaving door open which sucked on a cold winter day. What sucked even more was having a dog come in (with a customer ) and eat off my plate since our table was dog-height. His self-entitled daddy said nothing.😒Then there was the constant flow of people walking into our mini table to get back and forth to the buffet since there is simply not enough room to move around.

When I found out about Ataya Caffe I was really curious what to expect, Italian and African cuisine? Whaaaat? We've been there for brunch, so many choices, different flavors and textures. It was a great new experience for sure. It looks like the place is pretty crowded on the weekends, no wonder. So better book ahead ;)
