Plant-centered vegetarian bistro serving everything from snacks, starters, main courses to dessert and cheeses. Menu changes daily. They freestyle on Sundays with leftover ingredients to avoid wasting food. Great alcohol correction, serving natural wine. Aim to be 50/50 vegan and vegetarian, but if the menu should lack vegan options, just ask them and they'll gladly make some. Open Mon-Sun 17:30-00:00, Sat-Sun 12:00-15:30. Closed Mon-Wed.

Multiple courses experience - Edit
We really had a lovely experience here! It’s a multiple courses type of concept with a menu that changes daily. It was really loaded with veggies, and there was a lot of food so it was nice to eat that many different things. Almost everything vegan, just have to comfirm.

Gourmet experience for vegans and vegetarians - Edit
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times now, and the food will always be a surprise, as the menu changes everyday, and it is a true experience, as the way the chefs put together a meal, is something you would have never thought of yourself.

Simple but astounding. - Edit
I've been twice and the first one was spectacular. Served as family style, all the dishes we had to share were so good.
Read moreSadly the second time I wasn't that happy but could be a personal dislike for some of the ingredients of the season.
Either way, I always highly recommend this place to everyone, it is really another level of cooking.

Great vegan-friendly place - Edit
My wife and I ate there with two non-vegan friends. Was simply a great experience. We had several dishes that they made vegan - great flavours and presentation. All the staff were super-friendly with just a great, relaxed, service-oriented attitude. Place was packed during the week, which says a lot. We'd definitely go again.
Read moreFollow-up note: we returned several months later and had an even better experience. Inspired and new types of vegan dishes - it's clear they care.

Positive surprise - Edit
Baka d'busk was a very positive surprise. It is a cozy, unpretentious place with a good atmosphere. However, poor acoustics make it a little tiring to talk together. The service from the friendly and welcoming staff was impeccable. However, they were busy serving the dishes, so we could finish before the second table setting. we came at 6pm and around 8pm we got the bill without asking. In the meantime, we had probably enjoyed probably 10 delicious dishes at a slightly too high pace. My companion got vegetarian dishes and I got vegan. For most of the dishes they were identical, but where this was not the case, the vegan was vegetarian without dairy and eggs. There were no substitutes with vegan alternatives. The vegan menu is thus not fully as good as the vegetarian one. However, in any case it was a good experience both in terms of taste and visuals. The bill for the menu and drinks amounted to just over DKK 600 per person. It is ok in relation to the experience.

Don't walk, run to this place already! - Edit
Despite initial difficulties trying to book a table, I was able to secure one after contacting this place by e-mail. I'm so glad I did. This turned out to be by far my favourite meal in Copenhagen in a long time. Staff were friendly and polite, without kissing up, and I also saw signs of endearment with one another. They treated me to some complimentary juice (very nice) and uh, kombucha (I almost liked it). After having eaten a starter and a larger course, both of which gorgeous and served quick, and given that the only vegan dessert was a sorbet, I decided to go for one more dish. Vegan options were not marked on the menu and the vibe was a bit loud, so I ended up getting the wrong dish, a mushroom one instead of the beets skillfully marketed by the waiter ("nothing beats the beets"). When informed of the error, it seemed they were willing to let me keep it for free, but it tasted equally great, so I changed my mind and decided to settle for it. The beets will have to wait, but I'm sure I'll get 'em eventually.
Read moreThe food at Baka D'busk is pretty extraordinary: ingredients that you're very familiar with, but prepared to perfection, somehow making the final product greater than the sum of its parts. Feeling moved by the whole experience, I exited the restaurant after sharing my praise for the cooks. Now, if only they could offer more vegan desserts..

Not a fully vegan place, but you can still try a variety of dishes. I got the marinated fennel with oranges and almonds. Cosy, but busy place. I would go back. #Veganuary

What a lovely cosy place!
Read moreFrom the outside, we didn't expect it, but once inside we were brought to a very cosy table at the back. The menu was only in Danisch but the staff was very helpful to assist us with translating it.
The starters didn't seem that interesting and there were no vegan desserts except for a sorbet. So we thought we were off to a bad start. But that idea changed the moment we took a look at the main dishes. Unfortunately, the vegan dishes are not indicated on the menu and we had to ask as well. Here there was even some discussion between staff but they clarified for us what could be made vegan.
We had 4 dishes but all plates were quite large and filling. Every single plate was just a piece of art and exquisite in taste. The pistachio salad with Artichoke was my favourite, it even had some tasty green herbs I didn't recognise. Also, the celeriac and the casserole with pumpkin and beans were very tasty. I only didn't like the fennel dish, as it was paired with orange and turnips and since having corona the latter sometimes tastes very off to me. My partner loved that dish as well.
We found it as one of the only options open on Sunday evening but now this is a must-visit added to our Copenhagen favourites list. Hopefully, they switch to mare and clearly indicated vegan options.
Cons: No interesting vegan desserts, Vegan meals not indicated

Legit - Edit
Vegan options upon request.
Read moreService: Staff was welcoming, albeit a bit all over the place, and it seemed like the many friends and acquaintances dropping by during the evening took a bit away from their focus on dining guests. They, for example, forgot two dishes I ordered, re-arranged with wrong plates and forgot cutlery. They also seemed to have forgotten the vegan-part during the serving, so stay attentive and keep mentioning it. Vibe was classic Copenhagen, casual, loud music and somewhat of a cocktail bar vibe as we neared midnight. Nice.
Food:
We had the melon salad and the tomato dish for starters. The taste combinations worked very well, and especially the tomatoes were incredible. Very nice touch with the balance of sweet and sour in the melon salad, although it was slightly watery and to the sour side.
We tried the pickles with sweet nuts and the tahini. Solid pickle, and the combination hit some taste notes my tongue hadn’t experienced in that manner before - great! And the tahini with a slightly spicy tapenade of some sort on top - best tahini, hands down, I’ve ever tasted. Basically crack in tahini-form, and their sour dough bread - second to none.
Main was the zucchini tempura, and they could’ve went with a bit more of the tempura, seeing it only comprised 1/5 or so of the dish. A bit disappointed by the purée on which the dish rested, as it tasted very much like a good, but puréed vegetable/tomato soup. The dish needed more texture and an extra layer, maybe in the shape of a bit more tempura, or dehydrated veggies.
Unfortunately the dessert was a huge disappointment. Two huge pieces of poached peach with the syrupy induction acting like a much too sweet blanket on an already overly sweet dessert. Grapes and berries simply added to the already sugary mouthfuls. Uninspired, and basically just the boring, un-imagined vegan option; a fruit plate. Really had a craving for sweets at the end of the meal, but couldn’t finish, seeing that it was both boring and much too monotonous. However, they charged considerably less than the vegetarian options, so instead of giving them 3.5/5, I give 4/5 and a slight look of disappointment.
Adding to this, I found them lacking serious non-alcoholic options of juices or cold teas, other than your run of the mill fruit juice and/or soda selections.

Fully satisfied - Edit
We stumbled onto this little restaurant jetlagged on our first night in Copenhagen and had a great meal. From the jump it was welcoming. We didn't have a reservation but the hostess had a small table free for 2 hours and offered it to us as long as we left by the later reserved time. Service in Copenhagen tends to be rather detached but the staff here was very friendly and took time to discuss dishes before and answer questions about the preparations after. There wasn't a specific waiter so we had the chance to ask questions to a few staff. Food was delicious with really well developed sauces and good ingredients. Not a lot of protein on the plates which might be an issue for some vegans. We are not vegan but mostly eat vegetarian and there was butter and cheese in some stuff-which was delicious but might be an issue for certain eaters. Props to the kitchen crew who turn out stylish delicious food on time in a tiny work space (their prep work must be excellent). Cost was Copenhagen moderate, not cheap but could have been worse for well made food in this city.

Very unique restaurant offering only vegetarian & vegan dishes - Edit
This is a true gem in Norrebro, it is a small restaurant run by 4 guys who truly know what they are doing.
Read moreEverything is super fresh and they change their menu almost as it is based on what they can get at local markets, that is why you will get your menu also just printed on a simple piece of paper😄
All dishes are 100% vegetarian and most of them can be made vegan, just talk to them and they are happy to assist you and recommend the best dishes.
Have been there already 5 times and the food was always amazing, and the value for money is outstanding. Also my meat eating friends fell in love with it :)
Try also the snacks and especially try the Panisse (tastes like fried polenta fries - just better ;))
Also the staff in the restaurant is super friendly and forthcoming they are always happy to help you out if you have any questions
Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly staff, nice vibe

One of the best in Copenhagen! - Edit
Finally! A place in Copenhagen, that isn't just following the trend and serving burgers/pizza/falafel/salads/poke bowls. Well prepared veggie dishes - many of which were vegan.
Read moreWe (two people) had two (huge) starters to split and then we split a main. Friendly service, nice vibe, surprisingly affordable.
Only downside was that the dishes containing yoghurt, getting them you would just exclude it and not substitute it.

Delicious seasonal food - Edit
Baka d'busk offers some very interesting food. The dishes change from day to day, and is based on seasonal, locally grown vegetables. I had a dish with sunchokes, apple, walnut, grape and radicchio (see picture).
Read moreThe food took some time to be prepared. But the quality is high, and with this type of food, a long preparation-time is to be expected.
A downside is that the dishes is a bit too small to make me full. So I recommend to take a starter too.
But tapwater is free. Thumb up for that!
Jazz music is played in the background, and the room is quite cosy.
The place also works as a bar. So be prepared, especially if you are slightly loud-sensitive as I am, that the room might become a bit noisy later at the evening.
Most/all dishes can be made vegan. Ask the staff, since they don't label the vegan options (which I will recommend them to do. Vegetarian Society of Denmark have free labels for menu cards which they can use. Otherwise a quick, green "V" with a pen is sufficient).
The staff is really nice and passionated about the food. So I enjoied my stay.
Final verdict: 4/5 - a bit too small, but very delicious and original dishes
Pros: Original food, Passionated staff
Cons: Small dishes
