Bubita is such a cozy place, very close to Barcelonata beach. They have an amazing Sangria menu. The tapas are delicious and the vegan paella was lip-smacking!!

Tapas and drinks - Edit
We got the seafood platter which was a fun menu item! My non vegan friend said the prawns were quite accurate. Lots of more traditional tapas options too as well as great sangria based cocktails. Menu available in English

A highlight of our trip - Edit
We loved the food and we drank far too much sangria - all in all, a great night. We got the chicken and the seafood paella and both were lovely. I also really enjoyed the fact that you could literally order an enormous glass of whipped cream for dessert (which, of course, I did).

Mediocre - Edit
Overrated reviews. We asked for Bubita dips and they only added one bagel cut in half for dipping, which obviously was insufficient. As for the seafood board, we expected variety and something different but we only got squid and shrimpz accompanied with sauce, dried tomatos, and another bagel. Dessert was also standard. To be honest, I felt disappointed.

The only problem of this place is that is a bit expensive compared to the portions.

Different from what we were expecting - Edit
We originally went to la Barceloneta Sangria bar in 2018 and we absolutely loved it. The sangria was delicious and one of the best we'd ever had, and the tapas came in five little paper plates with bread and each dip was exquisite. The paella was a large one for two people and incredibly flavorful!
Read moreWe travelled back this year and were looking forward to that delicious paella and those memorable tapas, but our experience was unfortunately a let down.
The sangria was good. The tapas were entirely different but some dips were still good (especially the tomato one) and the bagel seemed fresh but only half a bagel was served for a plate meant to be shared. The paella is now for one person, which is fine, but it really only tasted like rice in tomato sauce and wasn't very fresh. It lacked all that flavor we were expecting.
Overall, it felt expensive for the experience and it was very different from what we remembered, which is unfortunate. I wouldn't go back unless quality and freshness is improved.
Pros: Cute and central location
Cons: Many meals were just average, Different from what we remembered, Expensive for the offer

Best vegan tapas ever - Edit
This is one of the best places I've been to in Barcelona. We had several tapas. The mushroom corquetas blew me away. We were also very surprised by the delicious sea food replacement products. Finally, the Sangria was amazing and left us a bit tipsy. Give it a try!

Tasty veganised Spanish food - Edit
We enjoyed the terrace, which was still very enjoyable in November :)
Read moreStaff was friendly and we were happy to discover a variety of alcohol free sangria. The ones we tasted were okay but not that special, but maybe we are just not that into Sangria as it was a first try.
As appetizers we had the croquettes and the gnocchi. The first was tasty, the latter had a bit of a weird texture being both crispy and dry and soggy at the same time.
As main dishes we had the shrimp paella and tres amigos cheese platter. Both were okay but flavours could even be more refined.

Traditional Spanish dishes - Edit
The feel of the place doesn’t really correspond with the website, it fee s a lot more traditional and low key than the pizzaz of the website. Has a number of traditional Spanish dishes which are vegan. Really good. I think the flavours could be more refined and more intense but hopefully that will come over time. Well worth a visit.

AMAZING PAELLA - Edit
Omg I’m looking back at photos to post and my mouth is watering. We tried all of the types of paellas and they were delicious. I am not used to Heuro plant based meats but am now obsessed thanks to Bubita. We also had the limoncello strawberry sangria and it was not too sweet but so good. Service was friendly and vibe was great. Food is amazing!

Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere, and staff - Edit
From the atmosphere to the flavor, as a solo traveler, this was an amazing spot to rest and recharge. No loud music (more like sweet jazz coming from a small, vintage Marshall amp in the corner), no pushy staff, very attentive (but laid back) waiters and bartenders, and the food and drinks were incredible. Great presentation, even better flavor. Not stopping here would be your biggest regret really.

Impressive seafood and cheese - Edit
Very nice tapas. We were quite taken by the texture of the seafood (Beach Vibes Reloaded). The cheeses (3 Amigos) were also very nice and while the Crispy Gnocchi weren't that crispy, they were butter soft on the inside and came with a delicious sundried tomato paste. The drinks were so so.

Best sangria - Edit
This place had the best sangria we had in Barcelona. There were so many versions. Would recommend ordering the Frida which was cava, lime, and tequila with a spicy touch. SO GOOD! The tapas were OK but nothing special. Would recommend the patatas bubita. The three amigos ( a vegan cheeseboard) had good cheese but lacked accompaniments.

Really comfortable and solid food. - Edit
I loved sitting in the little courtyard while eating excellent vegan paella. I’m not a sangria person but my friend had and loved it. Caution: too many people in Barcelona smoke and do t mind doing it near other people, so anytime you eat outdoors, you may need to smell the other people.

Me esperaba algo muy bueno… no me gustó. - Edit
Me pareció todo muy estético pero para nada bueno. La sangria era bastante floja y, de la tabla, aprecié los aros de cebolla, las patatas, la salsa bbq y las nueces. Todo lo demás, no me gustó… y me pareció caro.
