Super delicious and creative - Edit
Happa is a real gem! I found it a few months ago and I've already been 5 times. Most days they do a 3 course prix fixe which has so far failed to disappoint. Everything is intereting, creative, fun, beautiful and tasty. Saturdays they do a 5 course fancier version that feels like a real hosted dinner, and was a wonderful date night. I'm sure I'll be back again, it's a wonderful and special little place.

We came here for a belated birthday celebration - we had to cancel on my actual birthday because I got sick, and the restaurant staff was very communicative during the re-booking process.

My partner is gluten-free, which was handled really well - one of the two options was gluten-free already! We also found the alcohol-free drinks selection big and tasty, which is a big plus!
We had the weekday 3-course menu, and here my review is a bit mixed. The bread and the starters were really nice. However, my main dish - barley risotto with vegan parmesan - was overly salty and overly oily. I have also experienced this in other restaurants in dishes with vegan parmesan - the vegan parmesan is usually very salty, so I personally don't add as much (or any) salt to the rest of the dish when I use vegan parmesan. I don't know if it was the salt and oil level or other parts of the meal, but I didn't feel super good in my stomach the rest of the evening. I know I have a rather sensitive stomach and also have changing levels of histamine intolerance. I thought currently my histamine intolerance is not as strong and that's why I even chose a zero-waste restaurant, but of course I don't know if that's the reason.
The "Knusperwölkchen" dessert was really delicious, with really great vegan cream, and the lemon tiramisu was nice, nicely lemon-y, even though I'd prefer for it not to taste like tofu at all.
Overall, we liked the vibes but we have had way better food in other more high-end vegan restaurants like "Venn Canteen" in Porto - though not in Berlin.
We might still come back for a different menu.

Cozy and colorful place where you can only choose a three course meal for 40€. For each dish there were two options: so it's a perfect place if you're two and like to share. We were, and we do, so I got to try all six dishes.
Read moreI enjoyed all the food. It was colorful and beautifully presented. Some dishes had interesting flavors that I really liked, especially the starters, the main dish with potato, and the lemon tiramisu. But the portions were too small, and sometimes I felt like it lacked flavor.

Das Happa Restaurant ist eines meiner persönlichen happy places. Ein Ort der mich glücklich macht und mich noch nie enttäuscht hat. Das Essen ist großartig und besonders, die Preise mehr als fair und die Optik der Gerichte verspricht einiges. Wer Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit, eine schöne Atmosphäre und ein lovely service team legt, ist hier in Kreuzberg total richtig. Vor allem die saisonalen 5 Gang Dinner Menüs haben es mir angetan, aber auch das kleine Happa für einen schmaleren Taler kann sich sehen lassen. Ich war vor kurzem mit einer größeren Gruppe dort und habe noch den ganzen nächsten Tag von dieser schönen Erfahrung gezehrt. Vor allem die Kommunikation im vorneherein war sehr professionell und liebevoll. Dieses Restaurant ist einfach so gut durchdacht, von den Bio Zutaten über den Kaffee bis hin zum Interior, der Wanddeko, der Hundecollage und der Getränkekarte (nice drinks, auch alkoholfreie).

It was a lovely meal and I love the whole concept of it but I felt some of the dishes weren't that great. Me and my friend shared everything so ordered one of each of the items on the menu and the bread was the highlight of the meal, the desserts were pretty good but that's all the positives I can say about my experience. I also felt the meals lacked protein and I just didnt feel like the meals were well rounded, it was just lacking. Slighlty disappointing but still enjoyable

We visited HAPPA's Italy themed 5-course saturday dinner event. The owners were super friendly and the service was great. The vegan non-alcoholic wine pairing was such a nice surprise to find, and the drinks were really interesting and tasty. The food had some fun and interesting flavor combinations as well!

The five course dinner was more of a fine dining experience so expect high prices and very small portions. The food was delicious though and the restaurant‘s zero-waste, organic, women-owned, leaf-to-root concept is amazing. The non-alcoholic wine pairing was so cool too! Only real con was it was extremely uncomfortable. We were placed in the back room, which I had never seen photos of online before. Our table was wedged between the back door exit, the wardrobe, and the bathroom, which only has one toilet so people are always waiting outside it. The ambiance was very disappointing compared to how cozy the front room looked. Also the tables and chairs felt like old school classroom school furniture, which were very hard and became uncomfortable fast. Maybe we just got unlucky and had the worst seat in the house but it ruined the experience for us unfortunately.

Thank you for your feedback. We constantly work on making our guest's experience as comfy and enjoyable as possible. Indeed the chairs we have (in both guest rooms) are vintage school chairs from Denmark, we have been making them more comfortable with cushions since then and we are also constantly working in the interior/ decoration of our place, we have a tight budget so we have to do it step by step. We hope you come back so you can have a better experience.
