Went with group of veggie and omni folks. Food tasted nothing like even semi-correct Indian food.

Just stumbled upon this place while exploring downtown on a quiet Sunday and was happy to see that it was vegetarian. I was easily able to order a vegan meal of aloo gobi, Baingan bharta and cumin rice. I see some reviews complaining about the service, and to be clear: this is not a quick eats place. It’s great for a leisurely meal. There is a cart that comes around and makes Turkish coffee at your table and even a belly dancing show. The dancers were great. I spent a couple hours here, just taking it all in. There’s a beautiful gift shop on the lower level too. I can’t recommend the eggplant (baingan bharta) enough. It was so tender and not spongey as it can be when overcooked.

Read moreEven with only a handful of people there the service is terribly slow. We did see some people leave while we were waiting because no one took their orders. We had te be quit aggressively stop a waiter to ask for the menu as well. Only one meal was available to pick.

Don’t arrive hungry - Edit
We get in the bad habit when traveling of getting really hungry and then finding a place to eat. This was a bad place to show up hungry. The food took almost an hour to arrive. When it finally did, it was ok tho the aloo gobi (cauliflower and potato) was not super generous and included only five little florets and no potatoes. Maybe they were just having a bad day that day. The ambiance was nice, a good place to step away from the business of the street for a bit, but if you’re hangry, bring a granola bar with you just in case. Bummer.

Excellent option in Centro, plus belly dancers! - Edit
Great option for Indian food -- affordable, huge menu, great old building. Servers are knowledgable on which dishes are vegan, and the thalis can be made vegan with substitutions, etc. Make sure you catch the weekend belly dance show, it's really quite good. And when you're done eating, peruse the two whole floors of imported Indian goods and clothing. Highly recommended.

Nice space, Staff were very pleasant but took a while to serve us. Vegan options not marked on the menu so it was a bit difficult to know what we could have. Asked if the thali could be made vegan which it could.

Great Indian restaurant. I went here with a big appetite and was fully satisfied. It took a bit of effort to request a fully vegan meal since my Spanish isn’t great, but it all worked out and was fully worth it. The restaurant is totally vegetarian and many dishes are vegan by default.

Restaurante muy amplio con shows de bailarinas! Muy familiar y atractivo. Al principio los paquetes que te venden parecieran pequeños comparados al precio, pero vaya sorpresa! Todo delicioso y muy llenador! Fuimos tres personas y no logramos terminarnos los platillos! Lo único malo fue el servicio, suuuuuper lento y todos distraidos. Aconsejaría por esta razón buscar otro lugar cerca si están muriendo de hambre o si no son muy pacientes, cuando fui casi no había gente y aun así tardaron unos 20 min SOLO en llevarnos la cuenta.

After being severely disheartened by high prices and poor quality of food in vegan and vegetarian friendly places here in Mexico, I am delighted to finally land upon a place that is reasonably priced, authentic and delicious. I was dubious at first... Real Indian food in Mexico? But I was quickly humbled because most fortunately this is the real deal. Definitely as good as any I have eaten in the U.S. I highly recommend it! (I got the Thali plate, which gives you a nice variety of tastes and dishes.)
