Great vegan take on traditional French cuisine; although pricey!

My girlfriend and I had a lovely meal here at the end of our four day stay in Paris. To this point, we’d been eating a lot of veggie burgers etc. I was really impressed by their menu and the quality of the food. The lasagne was exceptional (although quite a small portion) and my partners “boeuf bourguignon” was also a triumph. I’d also recommend the carrot cake for dessert. Personally I found the Creme brûlée a little too rich, but it is amazing that they can make it so realistic using vegan ingredients. Lovely staff, would recommend. Just be aware that it is expensive, approx €65 for all that with a glass of wine (service included.)

Pros: Full Vegan Menu - Lots of Options, Great tasting food. , Good location.

Cons: Expensive.

Outstanding quality and flavor

Stopped in on a Sunday recently with my wife and enjoyed the food and ambiance. Chickpea & rice pancake was great as were the avocado deviled “egg “ and roasted eggplant. Try the home garden fresh apple juice squeezed from the family’s orchard. Much success to this little diamond of a restaurant. Thank you, Marie, for your hospitality as well!

Pros: Great food, Terrific quality and taste, Fair price and nice dining room.

Amazing vegan restaurant with whole food delicious dishes. Three starters, three mains and three deserts to choose from. Not a wide choice but it is all so good it doesn’t matter what you pick, it will allways be good. Service was good too.

Must go

Le Portager de Charlotte was definitely the culinary highlight of my time in Paris. I only wish I had saved room for dessert! It’s definitely worth the price. If I weren’t on a budget I would’ve gone multiple times to try everything on the menu. I’m glad I chose this restaurant as my splurge.

Pros: Delicious, Friendly staff (spoke English), French experience

Very tasty pure food

This restaurant has a small but changing menu. I came on a hot day. The melon gazpacho was a perfect starter. As a main I took a salad. Usually not fond of salads but it was rich enough: sweet patato, tofu, melon, sprouts... It wqs presented very well. The staff is super friendly. Highly recommandable!

Incredible tasting and healthy

***Word of advice, especially for Americans used to overly seasoned/salted vegan foods and fake meat dishes -- As an American that knows all too well that we love our faux meats, sugar, and salt, be aware this place serves delicate, vegetable based dishes. If you're looking for something super savory covered in thick sauces, you may not enjoy your meal. If you are looking for a delicious, healthy meal, this place is definitely for you!!***

I love vegan junk food as much as the next person, but I also enjoy meals that are pure veggies and grains, without the faux meats and cheeses. That is what Le Potager De Charlotte offers and it is insanely good. The owners and staff are also incredibly sweet and accommodating, ask them to recommend their favorite restaurants and places in Paris and they will not disappoint! Love everything about this glorious restaurant!

Fantastic

I wanted to finish my visit in Paris with a nice restaurant where I could take my aunt, we stayed at her house , she is not a Vegan and I needed a restaurant that could satisfy her French taste. The restaurant is cozy, the ambiance is perfect even for a romantic dinner... The food is amazing, we tried everything in the menu. The menu consisted in three different options for appetizer, entrée and dessert. We were three of us so each ask for a different one. The salad I was served a delicious and my appetizer was their chickpea and rice pancakes with cashew cream delicious, My aunt was delighted with her Avocado stuffed with hummus. In summary this is an excellent restaurant, the service was also perfect. Being a gourmet Vegan restaurant people who complaint about the size of the restaurant or the menu limited choices, are wrong. First the menu changes are seasonal the restaurant is not small, is cozy and super comfortable I think that this is a Vegan restaurant like no other in Paris. I have been to a lot.
Next time in Paris I'll go back for sure.

Subtil and delicious restaurant

Le potager de Charlotte is one of the most gourmet like restaurant in Paris. Personnaly I don't feel very comfortable in places that are more sophisticated / bourgeois like. You should make a reservation if you want to go there. Dishes taste very subtil with a lot of different flavors.

Pros: Dishes with a lot of vegetables

Cons: Prices, Reservation needed

Acceptable, but nothin overwhelming

This is a good place to go, but even if the food is fresh and well prepared, it could be more tasty. I needed mor spices, fresh herbs ...
Besides that, it's a bit expensive and the choice is limited. Three starters between 8,50 and 10 EUR; three main meals between 15,50 and 18 EUR and three desers between 8,50 and 9 EUR.

Pros: FReshly prepared, Nice staff

Cons: Two rows of tables, "canteen" promiscuity, Expensive, Only one white wine afrom the esoterical "demeter"

Great place

We went there 2 years ago for dinner and we already liked it a lot, although it wasn't our favourite, we came back for brunch this time, and the place has now definitely made its way to the top of my favourite restaurants...I will always go back there, when in Paris...the staff is friendly, the food is tasty and fresh, the first time we were there, we had a pumpkin-soup and a avocado/hummus combination for starters, then a rice-noodle/brokkoli/mushroom/cashew-bowl and sweetpotato stuffed aubergines for mains, the second time we had the brunch and the brunch is clearly one of the best I ever had, beautifully arranged dishes, all amazing and very tasty, don't miss it!!!

Good but not mind blowing.

I was expecting something crazy and was a little disappointed. It’s really good though but a little over priced for what you get.

Do not leave Paris without eating here!!!

THIS IS A BIT LONG BUT STAY WITH ME UNTIL THE END!!!
Last night we had the most incredible dinner @lepotegerdecharlotte
This is a restaurant not to be missed. The presentation of each dish was only outdone by its flavor. There were no disappointments except when we were done and that's only because the meal was over. We were greated by Adrien, one the brothers who co-owns the restaurant. David, the other brother is the Chef and genius would not be an understatement. His creations elevated dining to another level. By far the best meal we've had in Paris and one of the more creative meals from start to finish I can recall. Initially I thought that everything would be too "light" but it turned out that each appetizer, main dish and dessert possessed incredible flavors and nuance. Each was hearty, filling and absolutely satisfying. We literally rolled ourselves out of the restaurant.
The menu changes seasonally and there were three options for each course. Since we couldn't order everything we opted to each order different dishes and shared. For appetizers we ordered Chickpea and Rice Pancakes and Avocado-hardboiled egg style. The Chickpea and rice pancakes were absolutely incredible. Each pancakes came filled with cashew cream and roasted pumpkin seeds over greens. The cashew cream both filled and melted in your mouth leaving the pancake's wonderfully chewy texture. Simply delicious!!! The Avocado was perfectly ripe and filled with creamy chickpea hummus seasoned with turmeric and topped with pumpkin seeds. A side salad dressed and topped with sunflower seeds gave the whole dish great texture. This was served with a basket of warm, soft bread that was not only tasty in its own right but was a great compliment to the avo and hummus.
Having finished of the appetizers we eagerly waited for the mains and were certainly not disappointed. We shared a Sweet Potato Puree and a dish of Green Lentils and Mushrooms. The Sweet Potato puree was set in a dish of roasted sesame cream and topped with beetroot, cauliflower, leeks sprouts and chives. Blackened tofu and black sesame seeds floated in the cream. The combination of the sesame cream and the slightly crunchy veggies was fantastic. The mixture of the chewy tofu and cream was equally delightful. This was our favorite dish!!!! The Green lentils served as a base for the shitake mushrooms, and green onions all of which was surrounded by pumpkin cream and roasted pumpkin seeds.
Given how incredible the apps and mains were we couldn't pass up dessert an ordered one to share, the Chocolate Baked Pear. The most delectable poached pear filled with decadent melted chocolate chips flavored with vanilla and agave. Surrounded by roasted buckwheat and almonds with slices of kiwi and tangerine. We made sure the each bite of fruit included the chocolate and some of the roasted buckwheat and almonds. Each bite was fruity, chocolatey and crunchy. Absolutely beyond!!! Just when we thought we were done, and certainly stuffed beyond expectations Adrien appeared with one more dessert for us to share, Cacao Cream. Served in a small jar topped with sweet, light and airy coconut cream with roasted hazelnuts on top. Each spoonful of sweet coconut cream balanced the rich pudding. David brilliantly blended avocado into the cacao to give it an even richer and smoother taste. Adrien could not have been more helpful and attentive repeatedly asking how we enjoyed each dish and genuinely interested in our thoughts and feedback. We gave him a list of vegan restaurants in New York and he shared other restaurants in Paris.
This is by far the best meal we've had in Paris. Reservations are a MUST!!

Fantastic

This restaurant serves exceptional gourmet food. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The avocado “egg” was amazingly good, as was the creme cacao. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say our family of four tried almost everything on the menu and it was all outstanding.

Pros: Marvelous food, Cozy, welcoming atmosphere, Good wines

Excellent and not overly expensive

The food here is top-notch and service is very nice too. One would expect a much higher price tag for what you get here. Booking in advance is probably a good idea, but we have been able to get seated without reservations two times here

Pros: All-vegan above-average cuisine, Nice service, Good value

Ooof, not nice

this review is long overdue, as my visit was months ago. but I thought I should finally log in and leave good and bad reviews for my last Paris trip. the service in this place was absolutely dreadful. I couldn't even tell you how the food was because the manager (owner too I believe) told us that since we didn't have a reservation that we would have to order quickly, eat quickly, and be on our way quickly so that he could seat other guests. Okay cool. We left, no need to bother sitting any longer. All the other guests looked upset in there as well. Such a weird saddened atmosphere in such a beautiful city.

Cons: rarely open, when open, hospitality is dreadful

Incredible

We were welcomed on a busy night and had an amazing meal. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly. The food was creative and delicious. My non—vegan sister enjoyed it almost as much as I did. Butternut squash soup was out of this world. The avocado “egg” was unique and tasty. Presentation of food was gorgeous.

Pros: Creatively prepared , Whole food based, Friendly and accommodating staff
