Meh - Edit
Glad to find a vegan tea house, but I can’t say I enjoyed their treats unfortunately. The ice cream was insanely sweet (inedible); the raw cake lacked texture (too silky) and the taste was unremarkable.

Lovely experience - Edit
We had a lovely experience here and would recommend even if you’re not vegan or vegetarian. Service was great and very friendly. I loved my raw fruit cake, I could have eaten two! Lots of tea options but I was very keen to try matcha tea from Kyoto and it was delicious. My husband had a cold nitro tea which he enjoyed but wished it was colder (still good though).

Peaceful spot to rejuvenate! - Edit
Enjoyed the cosy setting with a black tea, wild mint tea and 2 vegan moon cakes. Lots of different books to sit and read. Super friendly and knowledgeable service.

Afternoon Tea - Edit
We enjoyed some afternoon tea after a long day of sightseeing. They have a vegan dessert menu that you can accompany with your choice of tea. I would've gotten the matcha creme Brule but it was sold out. So I opted for the vegan mooncake. It was light and not too sweet, a perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea. We were a little overwhelmed by the variety of tea options but we received a brief explanation of the available options which was helpful.

A wonderful tea experience in Kyoto! - Edit
A wonderful tea experience in Kyoto! Loved reading the tea menu and learning about the different varieties and how to brew them from the waitress. There is a lovely warm atmosphere inside and relaxing music playing ...felt like drinking tea inside a hollow tree in a forest somewhere ✨ You wait for the tea to brew with a little alarm set for exactly the number of seconds it needs-fun science. The vegan matcha creme brulè was great too. Also they have coffee on the menu if you don't feel like tea. Definitely recommend making a point of coming here when in Kyoto!

Thank you for your kind comment. We are happy you had a wonderful experience with us. I am bringing a little correction in case future customers are attracted by this.
Read moreWe dot not have coffee. We used to have a roasted rice powder that looked like coffee but we stopped doing it because it was not often ordered and added a few herbal teas instead.

Fantastic tea experience - Edit
I can't recommend Mandaracha enough if you enjoy tea and are Vegan. The tea room is beautiful and the owner was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain and recommend teas to me. And of course the tea itself was some of the best I have ever had. 🍵

Outstanding tea with vegan desserts! - Edit
One of the best place I’ve been in Kyoto. They have so many tea options and they helped me to choose one based on my taste. They teach you how to drink the tea and it’s a very unique experience. The owner is the nicest and vegan himself, so all of the desserts are vegan. I’ve tried the blueberry raw cake that was amazing and went really well with the tea. Would highly recommend, don’t miss it!
