Mildreds, established since 1988 and reported vegan in May 2021, operates several restaurants in London. Its changing menu offers British classics as well fusion meals, with example dishes like mushroom pie, Indian curry, lentil burger, tortilla chips and gucamole, burger with fries, waffles, vegan brownie with ice cream. This branch is small and gets crowded at rush hour so expect a wait. Cashless. Open Mon-Sat 09:00-23:00, Sun 09:00-22:00.

very crowded, very rushed, food okish - Edit
We were a bit underwhelmed by the food (it was okish, and all in all fair value for money, but not spectacular).
Read moreThe meringue in the dessert was chewy.
The atmosphere totally killed it though. Tables are so close to each other you can practically eat from your neighbour's plate.
Very busy, very loud. Could hardly understand each other speak.
Service was very rushed, not so friendly (they seemed stressed) jumping around. Seeemed like they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible.
No booking policy, which I find very annoying.

Amazing especially the lunch salad bar - Edit
Mildreds is tiny, busy, and a bit pricey. But you keep going back! And that's because the food is just so good. While it's crazy busy, the staff are efficient and friendly, and service is good. The a la carte menu is fantastic, with tonnes of vegan options and a large variety from burgers to curries to salads. The dessert section is great, as are the drinks. A personal favourite is the lunch salad bar though, which they will make vegan upon request.
Read moreIt does get very busy, so if you're in a big group either expect to wait a long time to get seated, in a cramped area, or maybe go to one of their other and larger branches.

Always a winner - Edit
I think I have frequented this restaurant the most out of any vegan restaurant in London. Consistent quality, great buzzy atmosphere, nice and attentive staff. I do love this place.
Read moreIf I had a complaint it's that the seating is a bit close together but that is no major issue at all.

Delicious! - Edit
Great menu options. Has labelled what is vegetarian, vegan or can be made vegan. Decent size restaurant. I had stir fried vegetables and really enjoyed it!

Great restaurant - Edit
Mildreds has really good vegan food, we tried the quinoa salad with avocado, and the vegan burger with sweet potato fries, then we tried the vegan brownie with salted caramel sauce which was really lovely!

Amazing food! - Edit
Since I was in the UK, I really wanted a pie. Mildred's did not disappoint. I ordered the wood roasted mushroom and ale pie with minted mushy peas and fries and it was delicious.
Read moreMy non-veggie mate ordered one of the vegan burgers and was also impressed.
We both ordered the chocolate brownies and it was divine.

Good but... - Edit
Busy, overpriced and a little bit overrated. I tried the Polish burger and was completely disappointed about the taste... cause there was any. But it was quite big and the potatoes were good. I'll have to give it a try next time I'm in London!

On our second try we managed to get a table (they do not take reservations). Food was nice and service fast. Downside: Chocolate brownie more of regular chocolate cake though but still tasty.

My favourite restaurant! - Edit
Mildreds now has 3 branches in London and all are on par with each other. The menu changes regularly with plenty to choose from each time. Mildreds gets very busy so you normally have to wait for a table but that just proves how great it is. Half the charm is the family seating so you are sat next to other people so I've met some really interesting people here as well.

Awesome! - Edit
I was in London for a few days and I had lunch here twice. I loved the place! It's though crowded and a bit noisy. The vegan hamburger with sweet potatoes fries and vegan mayo was absolutely amazing! I had desserts both times. The vegan pavlova was delicious. I highly recommend it!!

Thumbs-up - Edit
Extensive vegan options and interesting atmosphere. Enjoyed the food, but what I ordered (veggie burger) wasn't anything special. Our server wasn't pleasant at all, and I thought not much of it until reading many of the reviews on here. Overall a decent restaurant for a veggie lunch, but not a fantastic place due to subpar service.

This place is awesome. Great quality vegan food and tonnes of choice. I've been to the other branches before but this one is more traditional design and more cosy but very busy. I had mushroom and ale pie with chips and mushy peas and it was delicious. Highly recommend!!

Long wait for good food - Edit
If you come here during dinner hours, expect to wait, as you cannot book. The food is wonderful and vegan options are clearly marked. I've been to the Soho and Kings Cross branch and both were good. Only downside is that it's not vegan.

Awesome Dishes - Edit
This restaurant is always busy so expect to have to wait for a table since you cannot book. However, the wait is oh-so-worth-it. The classic burger is literally the best I have ever tasted in my life and the sweet potatoes fries are so soft and cooked to such perfection. You will probably be very full after a meal here but if you can manage it - try one of their amazing desserts too!

Worth the wait! - Edit
I love this place, wide interesting menu. On my last visit I had pie, mushy peas and chips which were so tasty and a proper chip shop size portion, none of your tiny morsels soho eateries often present you with. They have a great range of vegan wines too. There is usually a loooong wait but you get allocated a number so can relax in the bar with a cocktail until they come and get you. The staff often seem a little harassed with how busy it gets but I've never had an issue with my order or the speed in which I'm served. The dessert menu is amazing and I shall be ever thankful for vegan brownies and ice cream!

Tasty food, but very busy! - Edit
I came here yesterday with my husband and was surprised to get a table straight away despite it being busy. The service was okay, although the lady who served us wasn't very friendly (the other waiters and waitresses seemed quite cheerful towards their customers). We both ordered the tofu burger and it was lovely! The vegan cheese inside was very tasty which surprised me because I'm usually not a huge fan and the sweet potato chips were also good. Overall it was an okay experience and I'd definitely come back, but I didn't enjoy the cramped conditions and slow service. It also would have been nice to have been offered a dessert menu, but oh well, maybe next time!

Decent place - Edit
We ordered a veggie burger for each of us. One was Polish burger and the other escapes me. Service was decent. Location was good, passed by it first time as it's small on the street front. Expensive as the burgers didn't come with any sides or anything. If I'm paying that much for a burger it should come with sides.
