Vegan Ramen - Edit
I'm not really sure how to review Saiko.. The Ramen is cheaper than most places, and the people running it are nice and friendly
Read moreUnfortunately I would probably say go somewhere else and pay more, or get some packet noodles from the Asian Supermarket and add your own toppings for a cheaper and more flavourful experience.
- Broth was inoffensive, you get free top ups
- Gyozas were ok, store bought and deep fried
- Broccoli was in massive bits so not easy to eat with chopstick spoon combo
- Tofu was nice enough. Although I would have preferred the gochujang sauce on the side rather than smothered in after the tofu had been cooked.
- Noodles were a bit mushy and over cooked
- All very oily
I'm really sad to rate Saiko so low, I feel with more development their food could be very nice but unfortunately I wouldn't rate it at the moment.
Pros: There are vegan options

Great ramen - Edit
I've eaten from here quite a bit, always get the large vegan ramen and vegan bao. The large ramen comes with 5 gyozas, 3 decent slices of tofu and plenty of veggies, noodles and broth. Always really flavoursome.

Yum! - Edit
Finally some delicious ramen in the city centre. These were great and I'm sure I will order them again.

Awful awful experience - Edit
Appalling experience – fed meat to a vegetarian and treated with utter disrespect
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews, but what happened at Saiko Ramen Bar (inside Cambridge Street Collective, Sheffield) was so unacceptable, I feel compelled to warn others.
As a vegetarian, I ordered what was clearly marked as a vegetarian dish. What I was served instead contained prawn — which I only discovered after putting it in my mouth. I had to spit it out immediately. When I raised this with the staff, the waitress was shockingly rude, showing zero concern or empathy. My brother (a pescatarian) was also served chicken.
She went as far as to tell me that “any mistakes I made come out of her wages” and that I should “just suck it up.” That’s not only unprofessional, it’s downright disgraceful.
I left feeling disrespected, shaken, and angry, not to mention physically unwell. It’s horrifying to be served meat as a vegetarian, but to then be blamed for their mistake? Unforgivable.
Avoid this place at all costs - there are plenty of great places to eat in Sheffield that actually care about dietary preferences, basic hygiene, and treating customers with human decency.
Cons: SERVED MEAT AS A VEGETARIAN!, Extremely rude staff, When served the correct meal, it was small and bad
