Nice find in Kampot. - Edit
I came here mm two occasions and on the first had the vegan pizza which was nice but would have been nice to have some vegan cheese. Also, my friends ordered pizza too but they said they only have one pizza oven so they all arrived at different times.
Read moreOn my second visit I got the garlic cream pasta which I avoided the first time thinking it was probably bland but I was pleasantly surprised as it had great taste and flavour! I liked that we had to take our shoes off to enter and the vibe of the restaurant is pretty cool
Pros: Lots of vegan options
Cons: Only one pizza oven

Delicious & Healthy - Edit
We've been coming to Simple Things since we first arrived in Kampot mid December after we were told by a traveller that it was their favourite place to eat and they were right - We love it.
Read moreThe menu has extensive vegan and vegetarian options and the portion sizes are quite big but in the best way. We have tried quite a few things on the menu and our favourites are the Tempeh Sandwich, Avocado Toast, Tempeh Scramble, Garlic & Mushroom Pizza, Falafel Platter and we could go on... If you're vegan or vegetarian, you're able to actually look through the whole menu without having to worry if anything has meat, so thats a bonus.
All the staff are kind and helpful and the location is quite perfect, right in the city and walking distance to everything. The seating is relaxed, if you're lucky you can snatch a seat outside on the cozy chairs.
They offer yoga as well upstairs.
I've seen a couple reviews that say the food is bland but this is quite opposite of our experience - We think its really flavourful. You will spend a little bit more on this food (compared to very cheap Khmer food) but the portions are large, the ingredients are quality and the tempeh is one of the BEST we've had in Southeast Asia. The staff knows how to make a mean coffee, I'm always keen to get a latte with coconut milk.
Great place, fresh food, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Pros: Healthy, delicious food., Great value., Relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: None.

Flavours? - Edit
Nice place but nothing out of the ordinary. The food was good but quite bland and the only seasoning available were pepper, salt and Tabasco. A little boring.

Yes this places is full of young hip and tattooed people - but it’s not intimidating or unfriendly😄the smoothies are great. The dishes are yummy and large and they have great flavour. Music is always good and their atmosphere is lovely. We really enjoyed the mushroom/lentil mash, tempeh scramble and pumpkin mung bean bowl. Dishes are very generous and great for sharing.

Pretty and cozy place with great service and plenty vegan options - Edit
We had the Avocado toast and the Eggplant sandwich, both vegan. They were really tasty, simple, but very good. You are offered a bottle of free bottle of water and the menu is full with so many vegan options, it’s actually hard to pick. The service was excellent, the music was perfect for the mood and place (jazzy tunes).

Tempeh! - Edit
Cute little western style restaurant with a nice range of food if you fancy a change from local cuisine. We visited for breakfast and had tempeh scramble (generous tempeh portion, pretty good bread for Asia!) and coconut milk oatmeal with caramelized fruit (nice consistency and portion size)

Been here 6 times so far, and haven't had the same dish twice, as there are so many good vegan options. Staff are friendly, they have two adorable cats and the smoothies are great. Also for some reason everyone who eats here is incredibly attractive, still working on a theory as to why.

disappointing taste - Edit
After all the great reviews we were really looking forward to eating at this place. Unfortunately all our food didn't taste good. Maybe we made the wrong choices, but f. ex. the 'eggplant caviar' consisted mainly of raw onions and Bell pepper and we didn't like it at all. They were really accommodating, offering ud to make a new one and even charged less for it, which we found very generous, so no complaints here!
