Simple things. Good things.

I often say that the best things in life are the simples. This restaurant applies it perfectly. We had Falafel plate, Eggplant caviar and Eggplant rolls plus 2 cookies.
Everything was so good. Special mention for the cookies. Soft and Delicious. The chocolate melt in your mouth. Sick!

Awesome food. Delicious cookies.

We had dinner there and didn’t regret it. We shared one falafel plate, one eggplant caviar and one eggplant rolls. The quantities were perfect for 2. We tried the chocolate chips cookies that were delicious 😋

Pros: Many vegan options, Delicious food , Nice place

Cons: A bit pricey for Cambodia

Great place!

Tons of different vegan/vegetarian options at a great price. The bulgar was delicious and very filling!
Options for breakfast, snacks, full meals, beer, dessert, etc. The guys working there were very friendly too and they made sure to check in with each guest after their meal to ask how they liked it.

Nice find in Kampot.

I came here mm two occasions and on the first had the vegan pizza which was nice but would have been nice to have some vegan cheese. Also, my friends ordered pizza too but they said they only have one pizza oven so they all arrived at different times.
On my second visit I got the garlic cream pasta which I avoided the first time thinking it was probably bland but I was pleasantly surprised as it had great taste and flavour! I liked that we had to take our shoes off to enter and the vibe of the restaurant is pretty cool

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Only one pizza oven

Delicious & Healthy

We've been coming to Simple Things since we first arrived in Kampot mid December after we were told by a traveller that it was their favourite place to eat and they were right - We love it.

The menu has extensive vegan and vegetarian options and the portion sizes are quite big but in the best way. We have tried quite a few things on the menu and our favourites are the Tempeh Sandwich, Avocado Toast, Tempeh Scramble, Garlic & Mushroom Pizza, Falafel Platter and we could go on... If you're vegan or vegetarian, you're able to actually look through the whole menu without having to worry if anything has meat, so thats a bonus.

All the staff are kind and helpful and the location is quite perfect, right in the city and walking distance to everything. The seating is relaxed, if you're lucky you can snatch a seat outside on the cozy chairs.

They offer yoga as well upstairs.

I've seen a couple reviews that say the food is bland but this is quite opposite of our experience - We think its really flavourful. You will spend a little bit more on this food (compared to very cheap Khmer food) but the portions are large, the ingredients are quality and the tempeh is one of the BEST we've had in Southeast Asia. The staff knows how to make a mean coffee, I'm always keen to get a latte with coconut milk.

Great place, fresh food, friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Pros: Healthy, delicious food., Great value., Relaxed atmosphere.

Cons: None.

YummO!!

Lovely little eatery, funky music and very friendly staff. There are board games and cards to play with while you wait (not long) for your food.
Both of the spring rolls are a must, especially the eggplant and pesto, delicious. The falafels are also another dish you can't go past.

Pros: Lots of vegan food!

Flavours?

Nice place but nothing out of the ordinary. The food was good but quite bland and the only seasoning available were pepper, salt and Tabasco. A little boring.

Excellent every time

Ate here multiple times whilst in kampot.
Great breakfast, lunch and dinner options. I tried the tempeh scramble which was delicious and filling, garlic pasta which was very tasty but would benefit from some veg, pesto pasta which was great and the passion dragon smoothie which is amazing and also bright pink!
I’d also highly recommend the daily yoga sessions too!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Comfortable seating, good lighting and strong WiFi, Free drinking water

Loved this place

Came here a few times, amazing menu and great staff. They do yoga twice a day everyday too at 9am and 5pm which is def worth going to followed by breakie. Try the homemade granola! Delicious coffee too.
The falafel bowl is great and if you want simple comfort food so too are pasta dishes.
Make sure you also try the local ‘Flower’ beer sold here made from a local nano brewery. The best ‘craft’ beer I’d had in SEA so far!

Pros: Lots of options, Great comfort food, Friendly staff

Cons: Bit expensive

Really filling and delicious

Yes this places is full of young hip and tattooed people - but it’s not intimidating or unfriendly😄the smoothies are great. The dishes are yummy and large and they have great flavour. Music is always good and their atmosphere is lovely. We really enjoyed the mushroom/lentil mash, tempeh scramble and pumpkin mung bean bowl. Dishes are very generous and great for sharing.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Generous sizes, Fun lively atmosphere

Cons: At higher end of expensive , Can feel a little “precious” at times

Pretty and cozy place with great service and plenty vegan options

We had the Avocado toast and the Eggplant sandwich, both vegan. They were really tasty, simple, but very good. You are offered a bottle of free bottle of water and the menu is full with so many vegan options, it’s actually hard to pick. The service was excellent, the music was perfect for the mood and place (jazzy tunes).

Pros: So many vegan options, All smoothies are with coconut milk bot cow’s, Free water

Cons: Innie bittie pricey , Nothing else, the place is really good

So good!

Went here yesterday, had the veggie burger and a peanut butter/banana smoothie. It was for sure the best veggie burger I had since forever! We came back the next day for lunch! I had the hummus sandwich, which was also perfect! I really enjoyed the passion fruit juice as well.

Loved it here, definitely go here if you can!

Great clean food, a bit pricey

Tempeh sandwich was amazing, really flavorful and their homemade bread was such a treat. However, my boyfriend’s pasta was really really small portion. For 5$ it was just ridiculous.

Pros: Great vegan food

Cons: High price, small portions

Delicious tempeh scramble and good coffee

Enjoyed breakfast at Simple Things. Nice relaxed vibe.

Having read the other reviews, I had to try the tempeh scramble for myself. It did not disappoint. Presentation was lovely, and the mix of BBQ flavours with fresh sprouts was satisfying, the bread was also wholesome.

Pros: Decent vegan options

loved this place.

We came here lots during our week stay. The vegan options are clearly labelled and there are many to choose from. The tempeh open sandwich is delicious!! The smoothies are all vegan and made with coconut milk and were thick and delicious! The prices for what you get are really reasonable. They also do vegan cookies (without nuts!!).

Pros: big portions , amazing flavour, vegan cookies with no nuts!

Tempeh!

Cute little western style restaurant with a nice range of food if you fancy a change from local cuisine. We visited for breakfast and had tempeh scramble (generous tempeh portion, pretty good bread for Asia!) and coconut milk oatmeal with caramelized fruit (nice consistency and portion size)
Smoothies made with coconut milk were delicious and creamy. Good coffee
Vegan options clearly marked
Prices are higher than eating Khmer food, but actually not too bad considering portion sizes (breakfasts under $5)
We didn't go, but there are yoga classes at 9am and 5pm every day except Wednesday when they're closed

Pros: Healthy, varied food, Labelled vegan options

Such a nice place!

The food and smoothies were very very good. I had the avocado toast and it was loaded with avocado, i couldnt finish it all! They made me a vegan iced latte with coconut milk. The owners are very sweet people. They also raise money for underprivileged children in the area. Love this place, will go there again!

Pros: Good food, Friendly owners, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Really nothing

Plenty of excellent vegan options

Been here 6 times so far, and haven't had the same dish twice, as there are so many good vegan options. Staff are friendly, they have two adorable cats and the smoothies are great. Also for some reason everyone who eats here is incredibly attractive, still working on a theory as to why.

Pros: Cats , Nice staff, Beautiful customers

Cons: Kinda pricey, All the sexy customers make feel inadequate

disappointing taste

After all the great reviews we were really looking forward to eating at this place. Unfortunately all our food didn't taste good. Maybe we made the wrong choices, but f. ex. the 'eggplant caviar' consisted mainly of raw onions and Bell pepper and we didn't like it at all. They were really accommodating, offering ud to make a new one and even charged less for it, which we found very generous, so no complaints here!
But the menue sounded so great and mouthwatering, that we were just really dissappointed about the actual taste.

Pros: many options

Cons: not tasty

simple things

The simple things in life are not quite free but the falafel plate I had was abundant, delicious and good value— I’m not a bean counter, pardon the pun

The fruit plate comprising in season fruits was divine

Recommended and cruelty free

Pros: food, location, well fed cats slumbering nearby

Cons: closed on Wednesday therefore felt like vegan fugi
