Previous uodate: Still great! Had cod croquettes, fries and the relatively new fried chicken burger.
Update: Still great! The cheezy burger and fries (shared) was a great lunch.
Another update: Still great! It's been a long time since I had the ribs (starter) and they were very good.
We love Soil. The Ben Ben Noodles remain a firm favourite, and we also enjoyed the cod croquettes, smoky aubergine dip and spicy seitan sándwich. Sharing a bunch of starters is usually a winner.
Update! Now in January we've been back to try new dishes. The house-pickled Shii-take were good and my partner liked the kebab starter and (again) the spicy seitan sandwich. I tried the Tonkotsu ramen and it was excellent.
Good wine and service again!

I have tried different curries, salads, starters, coffee, deserts.. there is no dish that I am able to say " I didn't like it much", on the contrary, I've enjoyed all of them!
Strongly recommend it even to No Vegans! I have been there with No Vegan friends and they were quite amazed about the food ;)!
My favorite dish of the moment is the green curry (if you like a bit spicy, you will love it)!

The portions were too small for the price in my opinion. The beyond burger and the peanut bowl were really good but the kimchi bowl was disappointing and lacked flavour. For 4€ you can add mock chicken which tasted good but it was literally like four little pieces of the chicken.

We had a wonderful experience at Soil. We split two burgers; The Kimchi Burger and The Pulled Barbecue Burger. Both were amazing in terms of flavor and texture. The buns were so fresh and clearly made in-house. Not to forget, we had a BOMB hot sauce on the side, also made in-house in a fermentation process. The owners were really welcoming and gave some nice insights to the concept. So so wonderful. Please go 💫

It was the third time I went to soil. And the third time of it being a bit disappointing. As a vegan, i am often so happy about finding a place to cater for my needs, that I forget and forgive easily. But after three tries I have to be frank with myself. Food is okay. On the expensive side. Small portions and.... ouch... it is home cooking. Not restaurant food. Many options on the menu not available. Inconsistent. ( why is my first latte bigger and less foamier then the next?) You can only pay by card, but you dont find out until you hand them money.

My wife and I ordered different dishes. Sevilla Bowl chickpeas in tomato sauce, fresh-wilted spinach, cauliflower and shaved almonds. The other dish was the SOIL Cheeseburger with Beyond Meat, cheddar cheese, seared Mushrooms, homemade pickled onions and smoked garlic mayo.

A small restaurant with a good vibe and nice personnel. The menu consists of warm bowls, salad bowls and burger/sandwiches. You can choose between white rice or quinoa and add extras (like avo, smoked tofu, double up the beyond burger) to you meal.
Read moreThe taste is very good and not too expensive. Definitely a place to visit more often when in Amsterdam. The only con I can think of is not having side dishes on their menu like extra greens, salad or potato to add to your burger or bowl menu.
The hummus and muhammara as a starter is also tasteful btw.

The most delicious vegan dinner - Edit
Me and my friend shared the white bean hummus and then each had the peanut curry bowl with rice and smoked tofu and it was one of the nicest dinner’s I’ve ever had from a restaurant! It was stunning. The whole menu is vegan including the wine. 10/10 I would love to go back next time I’m in Amsterdam😄
