the vegan comfort food of your dreams - Edit
Spiral Diner is famous (at least in Texan vegan communities) for their incredible diner food, but (to me) their real shining stars are their milkshakes. I’m not even a big milkshake person, but oh my gosh– these are The Best! Don’t pass them up.

Inconsistent food, bad service - Edit
I’ve been here four times now and the customer service is terrible and the food is expensive. The food quality is inconsistent- sometimes very good sometimes completely disappointing. Staff are rude and unhelpful and mess up every time I ask for some kind of modification. I just ordered today because I want to support local businesses but was annoyed that the prices are not as advertised. There is now a mandatory gratuity of 15% for all orders. I believe that tipping is the right thing to do especially now but not if the service is bad. And it’s not a tip if it is mandatory- that is just a higher price. I ordered a burger which is the same price now but now they do not give you any sides. And they must have made it very early because by the time I picked it up it was completely soggy. I will not be coming in again unless I am desperate for a milkshake or something that I can’t get anywhere else. Unfortunately there are not a lot of other options for me since I am an ethical vegan. Bottom line: food is good but expensive and not consistent. Don’t expect good service and don’t expect your modifications to be done accurately.

One of the best vegan diners - Edit
I’ve been to several vegan diners & this is one of the best. Their nachos are incredible. The best cashew cheese on nachos I have ever tried. The cookies and cream shake is the most delicious shake. The sunshine breakfast sandwich is also awesome & their ghost burger is amazing. Highly recommend this place and you can’t leave without having dessert.....they have some of the best whipped cream.

Greasy, but Good! - Edit
We loved the atmosphere at Spiral Diner... such a cute experience! Our food was great, and we loved having so many options to choose from! However, as WFBP vegans, we’re definitely feeling the aftermath of our meal. Prepare for greasy food and some heartburn!

Something was missing - Edit
Service is OK. Sometimes they don’t pick up the phone or are too busy to do so. The food is good. Something was lacking but I can’t quite pinpoint it. Venue is chaotic and always very busy. Overall I would recommend them but they are not top of my list for Dallas.

Outrageous prices, great food. - Edit
Great food but service is always bland and prices increase every 3 or 4 months. Food is awesome and memorable but they’re feeding into the “vegan food is expensive and inaccessible” stereotype. I recommend the buffalo sandwich or buffalo nachos. Their brunch is great too.

Dallas, Texas Vegan Comfort food that hit the spot! - Edit
This diner has delicious comfort vegan food that truly satisfies! My husband had the bacon ranch cheeseburger and loved it. I had the spaghetti and meatballs (recommended by our server) and it reminded me so much of the spaghetti and meatballs my grandma used to make growing up. We were both pleased and highly recommend this bright, friendly place.

Lots of options to try - Edit
One of my favorite places in Dallas. The nacho cheese sauce is a must try appetizer. For lunch, I love the patty melt. If you get corn chips as a side, you can buy some nacho cheese to go with them. My favorite time to visit is breakfast though. The pancakes are the best. Even my omni friends want to go to Spiral when they visit. Also try the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast sandwich. If you’re adventurous, give the pancake grilled cheese a go.

Driving through Dallas we stopped at Spiral Cafe for brunch. If you do, get the quesadilla. It doesn’t look exciting but the tastes are excellent. Highly recommend

PICKY KIDS LOVED THE FOOD - Edit
I went to visit some cousins while in Dallas and they mentioned this vegan place that everyone raves about and they were right! It was AMAZING, I ordered the El Paso burger with cashew quinoa patty and oh my goodness it was so good, we had a 4 year old and a 7 year old with us and they split an order of chocolate chip pancakes and they almost never finish their food and they ate ALL OF IT. Definitely recommend, tons of options for vegans and non vegans.

Gone here for years and it remains one of my all time favs. - Edit
This place is so so reliably good, been going here for 5 years and can’t say enough about this place, such a friendly neighborhood environment! So yummy too and wonderful bakery. My all time favorite is the bacon ranch cheese burger, supreme nachos, buffalo nachos, they also have the BEST PANCAKES EVER (unfortunately only served for weekend brunch), the frito pies, the marinara and meatballs is great bc their pesto is amazing, love all the cakes and desserts! And the specials never disappoint! Taking non vegan family and friends here many times and they always love it!

I should move to Dallas - Edit
Who knew Dallas was so vegan savvy? I loved all the vegan places we tried while visiting but The Spiral Diner was my favorite. For dinner we both had the special (chicken fried steak). I just wanted a diner experience and that item fit the bill. The sides were all so satisfying too. The place was packed and the service was spot on. The next day our flight was delayed so we had just enough time to make it back in for breakfast! The atmosphere was so cozy day and night. Totally different vibe depending on time of day. Anyway the bowl with hash browns, spinach, gravy, etc was so satisfying to my soul. The self serve coffee area was a nice touch. Children’s books scattered about on the topic of being vegan. This place just has everything.
