Homophobic staff

I would have recommended Tapa before however my experience today has changed that. Despite the food and coffee being nice, myself and a female colleague had the unfortunate experience of the one guy serving at closing time today telling us about his hate for gay people. He expressed a number of homophobic opinions when my colleague went to pay for our coffees. (For context, myself and my colleague are both part of the LGBTQ+ community) He spoke of how a lesbian couple who come in regularly are married and have a child and that he thinks that isn't right. He told us how when working before in Camden there were so many gay people and he hated it. He basically expressed in a number of different ways that being part of the LGBTQ+ community was wrong. As English clearly isn't his first language we at first gave him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he wasn't understanding something or was asking us questions about our sexuality in order to educate himself but the more he spoke, the more it was clear he thought our existence as bisexual women and the existence of other members of the LGBTQ+ community is wrong. The fact that he even thinks he can ask random strangers about their sexuality is bad enough but to follow it with homophobic comments, especially relating to other customers is out of order. I'd like to know what the owners and managerial staff at Tapa will be doing to address this as I can guarantee myself and my colleague won't be the only LGBTQ+ customers you'll have. I look forward to hearing a response.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Homophobic staff
