Good flavours and textures - Edit
Lots of options, tasty food. Loved the rice, milkshake, fries, Jamaican plate and the tonkatsu bowl. The okonomiyaki had a different structure than we are used to, but the flavour was good.

Delicious drinks and food - Edit
I have searched for nearly 6 years for a vegan okonomiyaki and finally found one here. It was a joy and my French partner thanked me for the experience as it was his first ever okonomiyaki. The green smoothie was yummy as was the mango lassi which was heavenly. The fresh mint tea was so welcome to rehydrate. I could happily have tried everything on the menu here.

So many options! - Edit
TerraZen has a pretty big menu, all vegan, and also pretty varied. I found it very hard to choose from, I think many of the dishes are similar, only the protein source varies, but I really really enjoyed what we both ordered.
Read moreThe portions are just perfect: not too much, not too little.
It has a very chill, lowkey atmosphere that I also really liked.
Overall would come here again to try more dishes😄

What to choose? Such a bountiful menu. I had the Jamaican plate, which I enjoyed, and my friend had the okonomiyaki. She loved hers too.

Het eten is echt ongelofelijk goed en lekker. De sfeer is leuk maar de plek om te zitten niet zo comfortabel, niet echt om een avond met vrienden lang te tafelen, wel om echt HEEL erg lekker en authentiek te eten.

Very nice place to eat your fill, many different choices, everything vegan, from full plates, rolls, burgers, soup, drinks, deserts! Tried a tempeh plate, very nice and filling. Bit expensive but worth the visit. I recommend it.

Unreal Japanese/Caribbean fusion - Edit
This is my favourite place I've been in Amsterdam, maybe in the world! The food is so fresh and interesting, not a boring bean burger or falafel wrap in sight! I had the spicy red bowl, which was sticky vegan chicken with a crunchy salad and rice. The portion was pretty big for the cost, particularly for this place's central location where everything is expensive! The waiter was also lovely, really friendly and made me feel comfortable as a solo female traveller. 10/10 can't wait to go back!

My favourite place to eat on the planet. The Japanese-Caribbean fusion food is so fresh and interesting. Every time I come to Amsterdam I make sure I come here, sometimes twice in the same trip. This time I tried the okonomiyaki and it was fantastic!
Read moreUpdate 12/10/25: I've been coming here for 9 years now and it's always been fantastic. The food was still lovely today, but the service wasn't as "enthusiastic" as I've experienced previously. Not quite the same welcoming atmosphere, unfortunately. Still really good, but today would have been a 4 star score, rather than the usual unequivocal 5.

Unique - Edit
TerraZen is unique. Not really comparable to anything else. It is not a cozy place, feels more like a fast food joint, but the food is good. I love that it is fully vegan and has existed for decades. We had the tonkatsu bowl and vegan lust. You do need to mix the food - the rice itself is not all that flavorful. But then it’s really good.

Sauce laden tacos - Edit
Very eccentric fusion menu and lovely staff. I ordered the bean taco, which was overall lovely and a huge portion of two large tacos. There was a lot of sauce on there and whilst the beans were fried really nicely, it was a little salty. Lighting isn’t great so don’t go there if you’re hoping to boost your instagram😉

very unique - Edit
never had food quite like this. the place is small but tbh i felt very comfortable there. the waiters r kind and the service is fast.
Read morethe Samosas (6,80€) were incredible, but i think theres only veggies inside and no protein. as a main i had the Okomomiyaki (13,90€), absolutely out of this world. a soft flat "pancake" made of veggies and topped with these delicious sauces. a real banger.
i actually wanted their mashed potatoes and beans, but they said they didnt have it anymore. maybe making new menus wouldnt hurt😉

Too much choice! 🥲❤️ - Edit
It's such a varied and interesting menu that it really is hard to choose. By now I've been three times and it doesn't get easier.
Read moreThis time we shared a vegan plate (tempeh, chicken bites, salad, rice, stir fried vegetables) which was very nice and satisfying, but I slightly preferred the karaage bowl (jackfruit bites, salad, rice, bean sprouts).
On previous visits (many years ago) we've had dragon sushi roll, the Jamaican plate and various fast food-y things. It's always been good.
