Amazing ramen and rice dishes! - Edit
Had a bit of trouble finding it as we were coming from a different entrance to where we probably should've gone in.
Read moreBut once we were seated, after a short wait out front, the food immediately proved to be worth it.
It's really tasty and filling, with tonnes of variety!
Pros: Great food, Filling
Cons: Can be difficult to get to

The food looks great. What is actually in the tantanmen instead of meat? Is it tofu or similar? Their menu doesn’t actually specify

Incredible Ramen - Edit
Visited this shop with its various locations several times. I always leave with a full belly and a smile on my face.
Read moreTried the sakura ramen for the first time. This seasonal item comes with a sakura-shaped rice wafer and a sweet beetroot paste which you can mix into your ramen or eat it as it is. The broth was super savory - reminded me of chicken broth! The noodles were pink which added to the spring feeling of this dish.
The gyoza are always a must have whenver I visit this shop - so good!
Rating: 5/5 - Love this shop so much.

Not easy to find. - Edit
Make sure you enter via the main entrance otherwise you're in for a long walk trying to follow the directions.
Read moreSo we arrived at lunchtime and joined a queue. We waited 30 mins to be seated.
There's not a huge choice of food but there's a picture menu in English for non-Japanese.
We ordered the Golden Sesame Tantanmen & Gyoza and the Tantanmen-Tantan Bowl & Vegetable Gyoza.
After such a long wait, we were ready to eat. I have to say the wait was certainly worth it. This has to be the best food I've eaten so far on this trip to Tokyo
I would certainly recommend T's to any other vegans looking for good food.
Pros: Great food
Cons: Long wait for a table at lunchtime.

What do they use in the tantanmen instead of meat? Is it tofu or something similar?

ok the place is hard to find, you do need a platform ticket for JR which is 100 Yen to get in. then it is also busy you might need to wait and leave soon.
Read morestaff is not really invested I suppose because its a busy place. ramen is ok, but nothing special. imho too little ingredients and almost no protein at all. gyoza is just ok.

Good - Edit
The gyozas were good. I ordered the golden sesame ramen...it was also good, but could have used a bit more flavor. I found it slightly bland.

Ive tried all their food 🙏❤ - Edit
Over the course of two weeks in Tokyo I went to T's as much as I could. The only barrier to entry is thst its inside the Ueno rail station and thus you have to spend at least 150 yen to reach it, but I did it several times and fidnt even use my ticket to go to another station.
Read moreThe ramen options are the best choices, with the black sesame being the only spicy one, its a spice level of 5/10 for me but if your sensative it could be too much. While in terms of pure nutrition and taste profile id say the yuzu ramen wins hands down.
I had the pudding with rice and that was good but the pistachio ice cream is absolutely awesome.
So, If ramen is your thing don't miss T's they are extremely professional, quick and there is often a line waiting outside to get in. Enjoy!

Had to wait 40 min in a queue on sunday evening. I cannot say the ramen was the best I had, however this place is not some ”made from scratch” type. It’s a ”quick stop in connection to your transit, but still healthy” type. And I think it works well. I’ve got golden sesame tantan with all the toppings. The stock is light but tasty, and peanut butter adds some creaminess. Toasted sesame seeds add a lot of taste as well. The cheese topping seems to be coconut oil-based cheese, grated and pressed into a ball. I’ll skip that next time.
Read moreI’ve also gotten the fried soy meat takeaway to eat at Shinkansen the next day. It was lunch time on Monday and there was no queue. The dish itself tasted great, I especially liked gyozas, they were quite zappy with a delfined ginger flavour. So don’t skip gyozas!

Only OK - Edit
It's great that there are vegan options so readily available in central Tokyo, however I've marked this place down for 3 reasons:
Read more1) The ramen was tasty but by far not the best we had during our trip to Japan. You could say that this is to be expected eating at a train station, however the price was no cheaper to reflect this.
2) The location is very tricky to find if your train into Tokyo comes into the other side of the station.
3) I'm not sure why, but we had to wait outside for 30 minutes to be seated, even though half the tables were empty when we entered
