Good Ramen, Great gyoza - Edit
The meal was really nice, the peanut flavour was very strong though. Gyoza was excellent though! Reasonable price as well.

Delicious ramen in handy locations - Edit
Need a delicious hearty vegan meal just before you travel somewhere? T's has got you covered with their various branches in transit spots.
Read moreI came to Tokyo 5 years ago and ate at T's a few times and loved it every time. I've been back twice on this run, once at the airport and once here just before we got on a train.
I've had the golden tantan which is incredible. The broth is lovely and thick with a great sesame flavour. The beef ball topping is tasty but does get easily lost amongst the strong broth flavour. The noodles are great and plentiful and the other toppings add a bit of different flavours and textures.
I've also had a black sesame tantan here and that is also delicious. It looks pretty striking and I like the extra bit of spiciness in the broth but it lacks some of the richness of the golden sesame broth so it just loses out for me.
My partner and I also shared a plate of 12 gyoza and they were delicious. A nice bit of crispness from the fried side and I really enjoyed the flavour and texture of the meaty bits inside.
We also got a few of the instant noodle pots. They were all tasty and easy to prepare. They're a bit light so they're definitely more of a snack than a full meal.

Try the lemon ramen it’s insanely good - Edit
Tried the lemon ramen, rice bowl, white sesame ramen and gyoza, all were good but the standout was the lemon ramen which is the most delicious broth I’ve ever experienced. Came here 5-6 years ago and was good back then and still good now!

Legendary vegetarian/vegan Ramen restaurant inside Tokyo station!
Read moreEverything is vegan everything is delicious, you literally can’t go wrong in this place, everything is amazing!!
They also have shops in Ueno, Ikebukero, Narita Airport (both Terminals 1 and 2)
June 2025 Update: they now have touch screen tablets to order but the first screen is entirely in Japanese. Basically the left side is how many adults, The right is how many children, then press the red button in the lower centre.
Pros: Ramen, Gyoza , Char-Siu

Good, Not Great Ramen - Edit
T's Tantan was on my radar before going to Japan, so maybe my expectations were elevated. The broth was almost up there with the best, but the noodles were meh. The ramen bowls offered very little other than broth and noodles too. Would be nice to have a meal higher in protein. I was a big fan of the gyoza, however, and that takes this place up to 4 stars for me.

An Overhyped Letdown - Edit
We were disappointed. The menu allows substituting ramen with yuzu noodles for a gluten-free option, but the portion was shockingly small, even with added rice. The regular ramen itself tasted just okay. However, the restaurant does cater well to vegans, including Buddhist vegans who avoid the "5 pungent vegetables," and they provide a helpful allergen table for each dish. T's TanTan at Narita Airport T2 is so much better in terms of menu variety, atmosphere, and overall taste.
Read morePros: Provides allergen information, Caters to Buddhist or oriental vegans
Cons: Tiny portion size

Not overrated - Edit
I used to see the long lines and think this place was an overrated tourist trap, but dang it’s actually really good! Small limited menu (just two drink options) but great restaurants are like that.

Best vegan Ramen I had in Japan - Edit
Alot of places in japan that offer a vegan Ramen always use a plain veggie broth that leaves more to be desired... but not this place!! Their broths are amazing!! We ended yo coming back here many times when the Ramen craving hit and they also have the best gyoza I have ever had! It's a must stop for every vegan in Tokyo

The best! - Edit
This had to be the best ramen I’ve ever had in my life. The flavors were so well blended I didn’t even need my customary hot sauce. The gyozas were so good they disappeared into my belly like magic!

Nice place to enjoy a good bowl of ramen with friends/ family - Edit
Honestly, it was a little hard to find as Tokyo station is quite huge and crowded but it was worth it. We went at around dinner time and it was packed. Had to wait about 25 minutes or so to get seated.

The best vegan Ramen on my trip in Japan - Edit
I've tried every Ramen dish on their menu. The Yuzu Ramen and especially the golden sesam Ramen were a 10 out of 10! After many vegan Ramen on my trip in Japan I'd say that T's Tantan offers one of the best (if not the the best) Ramen in Japan.

Overrated? - Edit
There are plenty of good vegan options in Tokyo, but I found this place to be overrated as I feel they could improve the food quality. However, Tokyo Station doesn't offer many vegan alternatives, so it's convenient nonetheless.

Tried before our train trip to Osaka - Edit
As the previous reviewer stated, this place is good, but not mind blowing. We found it a bit light on flavour. My partner had the Black Sesame ramen and I had the Ponzu ramen. Both were good. The dumplings were good, but we’ve had better of both in several places on this trip. The ponzu ramen was a bit like chicken noodle soup, whereas the sesame was a little more robust and slightly spicy. The Black sedan ramen had (I think) yam noodles. They didn’t absorb any of the broth.
Read moreBut all the ordering was done on the iPad, so it was easy. You do get chargers some 100¥ fee on there. No idea what for specifically. Would def eat there again if I was waiting for a train, but would not go out of my way to eat there.

Cons: Lacks flavour, Not easy to find

Convenient but over-rated - Edit
In the weeks leading up to arriving in Tokyo, all I heard from other vegans was T’s Tan Tan for vegan ramen. I arrived in Tokyo Station and was excited to swing by for lunch before finding my lodging. The ramen was good but it honestly wasn’t great. I had better ramen at at least two different places in Kyoto.
Read moreI tried the black sesame ramen. It was pleasantly spicy but light on toppings (mostly broth and noodles). The noodles were okay but not mind-blowing. I added the soy meat char sui and I liked it a lot but it was kind of greasy; I felt similarly about the gyoza I tried.
My dining companion got the curry and enjoyed it but felt similarly. It was good but not amazing. He also ordered the vegan cheese and found it weird.
Service is very fast and done by iPad so there’s no language barrier. If you’re waiting for a train it’s not a bad choice at all, but I would definitely not pay for a platform ticket just to try this place, and I’m a little baffled by how many people said they ate here every day while in Tokyo. Even a vegan guidebook I bought stressed this place above all others, and I don’t really get it.
Maybe I would have liked it more if I hadn’t heard so much hype?

Fantastic Vegan Ramen - Edit
Look no further for vegan ramen than here at T's Tan Tan, one of the coveted spots for plant-based folks and those exploring.
Read moreHUGE Note: just like it's sister location in Ueno, you must pass through the ticket gates in order to access T's Tan Tan.
Since this is located inside Tokyo Eki, you might experience a bit of a wait. I waited about 10 minutes in line as a solo diner before being seated. There are a lot of Japanese and international folks dining here, so you're going to listen in on a lot of different languages.
I ordered their current special set which was their take on Thai Khao Soi and included a little cheesy rice bowl you can create using the broth after the noodles were done. I also got a side of their gyoza because they were great at the Ueno location.
As expected, the food here is great. Ramen quality if top notch and their rotating specials lived up to expectations. For less than ¥2000, you're going to have a great meal and know it's fully vegan.
Despite the annoyance of needing to enter through the JR gates, it's worth it on a stopover to your next destination. I'd plan to drop by for a meal if you're transiting between two different points on the JR line so it doesn't feel like you're wasting money just to gain access.
Pros: Great and plentiful options
Cons: Inside Tokyo Station - need ticket to enter

Quick Meal Inside Tokyo Station! - Edit
We came across T’s TanTan based inside Tokyo Station. It’s a great place to eat when stopping by at Tokyo Station or transferring there (please note, it’s inside the station past the gate.) We tried the classic Tan Tan Ramen and a Soy Meat Bowl with Gyoza. No reservations are available so there was a queue to get in.
