So much more than words can transmit - Edit
One of the ultimate stand out vegan places I’ve ever been to in my life. The three of us had their famous £22 Sunday Roast extravaganza each selecting a different meat (roast chicken, lamb and turkey). You are also provided with a Yorkshire Pudding then it’s self-service vegetables and all the usual trimmings such as sauces, stuffing and lashings of gravy. I had a bit of everything, piled my plate high then proceeded to devour the whole feast with a pint of their delicious Posh Lager overlooking Petticoat Lane Market. Not a bad way to spend an early Sunday afternoon before hitting The Oval for some T20 cricket action.

Truly disappointing. The food simply wasn’t good! - Edit
I don’t understand the hype of this place. I get that it has history, but wow, one of our dishes was meh (tofish and chips), and the other one we simply couldn’t eat (something wrapped in ‘bacon’), it was that terrible. And we usually aren’t picky at all. Won’t return and was very disappointed.

Lived up to expectations. - Edit
I had the lobster mushroom roll and love it! I have wanted to visit this place for a long time and it was just as good as I'd hope it would be.

Ein ziemliches hin und her der Gefühle.. - Edit
Pros: Interieur
Cons: Preise, Kellnerin

Something different - Edit
I aould say, that the food there is special, because I never had something like that. It was not my favorite, but it was not bad. My sauce was very greasy and full of pepper. I guess it was my mistake ordering something that I wasn't sure about.

Lots of vegan meat alternatives! - Edit
It was good but more of a one and done kind of place. I went for the Sunday roast and it was pretty similar to thanksgiving food in the states. It was cool to have a vegan-style buffet, but most of the options were a little too heavy for me

Amazing Sunday carvery! - Edit
I visited unity diner on a Sunday and a non-sunday. On the regular, non-sunday, menu, there are so many options to choose from. The tofish bites were incredible. I had the steak 2.0 as well, but it wasn't quite as good as the tofu. The biscoff Sundae was delicious.
Read moreThe Sunday Carvery buffet is top notch. You get one main - I chose the mushroom Wellington which was phenomenal - one Yorkshire pudding, and as many sides as you can eat, buffet style. The crispy potatoes, vegan crackling, Brussels sprouts, and roasted carrots and parsnips were my favorite. And then for dessert we tried the sticky toffee pudding which was great, and the deep fried Yorkshire sundae which was incredible! So much food and so delicious. Highly recommend! Plus part of the proceeds benefit animals at surge sanctuary 🥰

Disinterested staff - Edit
Was really looking forward to eating here after reading so many good reviews.
Read moreThe food was ok, nothing special, my main was lukewarm and I had to send it back. They did actually re make my food rather than reheat it, which was nice!! But what was really disappointing was the waitress and other staff just looked so bored and disinterested, not a welcome or a smile. Everything just seemed like it was too much trouble. The bill was £146 for 3 of us without desserts. I was shocked, I suppose this is normal for London, but imo it wasn't worth it. As I said, nothing special and definitely won't waste my time or money there again. What a shame as the old Unity Diner was lovely.
Pros: Convenient, Fully vegan, Gf options
Cons: Service, Overpriced, Ridiculously small portions

WOW!! - Edit
My husband and I went for their Sunday carvery after wanting to go to Unity Diner ever since we were together in London in 2019. I must say, the Sunday roast really blew my expectations!! I had the roast chicken and my husband had the braised turkey with all the trimmings and a yorkshire pudding. I must say, this might have been one of the best meals I have had in a long long time.
Read moreI really wish we had time to test out their al a carte menu during the weekdays, but that just means we'll have an excuse to travel to London again!

Great vegan food. - Edit
We came here twice for dinner:
Read moreFrom the regular menu we got the tofish, London cheese burger and the Shoreditch Cheese Steak. The tofish was the best we had in England; quite soft and not too fishy (the toddler ate almost all of it.) Also the tartar was great.
Burger was good, nothing too special. Cheese Steak Roll was also great, but messy to eat.
The second evening we were there for the Sunday Carvery. Everything tasted great. We even got to try all three meats (chicken; turkey and lamb). Texture wise the turkey and lamb were quite similar; one in brown sauce, the other in lighter sauce. The chicken tasted like vegan chicken bites you can buy at the store and make at home.
Not sure, how Yorkshire pudding is suppose to taste. Tasted a bit like a mashed potato muffin. Not bad, but definitely an interesting side dish. ;)
From the other side dishes the cauliflower cheese and the cabbage pea mix was my favorite.
I tried a bit of all the sauces. But I guess I just don’t have the British insider knowledge of how to combine the sauces with the food.
We also tried the Sundae! Very good. And the mocktail happy hour deal.
Many seats, but reservation is definitely recommend. Fills up fast after 6:30pm.

The Future is Vegan - Edit
There was so much choice that you can't help but feel spoiled. We opted for variety and selected a number of small plates in the form of Crispy Tofish Bites, Smokey Mushroom Skewers, Golden Calamari Rings, Loaded Fries, and the Peri Peri Chicken Skewers - we couldn't recommend them enough. Everything is created with such care and accuracy that Unity Diner demonstrates a perfect example of going plant-based and retaining all your favourite dishes. I can't wait to go back and try the vegan carvery.

A cracking roast! - Edit
Unity Diner have delivered a great vegan alternative to a traditional pub cravery. It probably wasn’t the best meal I’ve ever had, but it was tasty and filling and hit the spot - which is exactly what you want from a Sunday roast! You can choose your main (chicken, turkey, lamb, nut roast or mushroom wellington) then you add as many toppings and sides as you like. You could even go back for seconds (although we didn’t manage to do that!)

Fabulous - Edit
Realising I was nearby thanks to a work trip but with only 40 mins to dedicate to the place, I opted for a small plate of shitake mushrooms, skewered and grilled (gf) plus a dessert of sticky toffee pudding with ice cream (gf). All fantastic, the pudding was sublime as it's rare to find a decent vegan and gf hot desert. Staff were very accommodating as I had little time on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Looking forward to returning some day.

I was visiting London and I was looking for a pure Vegan Restaurant in the Spitalfields area. I’m lucky to come across this gem. I had the tofu fish and the corn small dishes. Both were excellent.

Sunday carvery! ✨ - Edit
Came for the Sunday carvery and luckily booked a table the day before😄
Read moreIt was very busy but you might get lucky with walk-ins!
The roast was super tasty and the veg/potatoes are helping yourself. You can also go up a second time for extras of the sides. The cauliflower Cheez wasn't very creamy or cheezy but the creamy leeks were good! Can't believe the vegan Yorkshire puddings! £22 for the roast and you will leave full!

Lovely Sunday Roast - Edit
We had the Sunday carvery which was delicious. You get one "protein" choice (mushroom wellington, nut roast, or a "meat" selection) and then as many trimmings as you like and you can go up for seconds or thirds of the trimmings! Perfectly balanced with flavour, the service is good, atmosphere is good and no animals exploited...which is also good!

The best carvery!!! - Edit
I highly recommend coming here for a fully vegan Sunday carvery. I think it is very reasonably priced at £22 per person (£10.50 child) and the food is amazing 5 different main protein options, Yorkshire puddings and lots of sides. Superb!!! Be sure to book a table in advance because it gets BUSY.

Nice locale, but small portions as no side dishes are included. The tofish was not what I expected.
