poor selection/ presentation

What a let down. First off the selection of foods you can order is poor. Only four items to choose from and they never change. garbanzo beans entree was hard as a rock and dry, Fruits not fresh, temp of food was luke warm. Then they serve it in a cheap paper plate from the 99 cent store. Don't waste your time, just because we are vegan.. doesn't mean we want crappy food..

Cons: very expensive for what you get...they have to do

Very Disappointed. Not clean. Poorly run.

No menus, but they do have four large TV screens - all blank. We were told “wifi is down” so no menus. Is there a paper Menu? “She (the owner?) doesn’t have printed menus.” “You can look at our menu on a website on your phone.” The server described a couple of dishes with words and hand gestures, we ordered soup and some things called African Delight Plate and Gorilla Burger (?)

Half way through the order a new server arrived and without washing her hands took over. The first server said “I have to go shopping for my husband” We had to repeat our order, now us verbally describing items that we just heard about. We paid but got no receipt: they have no receipt paper. “She (the owner?) didn’t buy receipt paper.”

We sat to wait. A third older woman now appeared from a back door, giving orders (the owner?) she began cooking without washing her hands.

Sitting alone in the restaurant listening to the two woman argue in the kitchen, we felt that we were in a family-run one-off restaurant in rural Africa or South America where customers had no choice but to put up with crap service, feeling more the sucker with each passing minute.

After waiting 20 minutes with no sign of food, one of them returned to the front, entered the walk-in fridge, and retrieved what looked like a home-style pot with a lid: apparently that’s the (left over) soup that we had ordered. She went back to the kitchen to begin re-heating it. How long had that cold soup been in the fridge? As we started to look more closely, we noticed that both women had un-kept, loose hair; we started to wonder about how sanitary the prep area was.

We waited longer and longer, then realized that we were probably not going to enjoy the food if it ever did arrive, and we had serious doubts about cleanliness, so we made a decision and left. We debated trying to get our money back, but the smell and atmosphere was quite literally making us sick. We decided to write off the money and get out.

This places appears to be a restaurant, even has a colorful logo design, but in reality this place is an extension of someone’s home kitchen. Unfortunately, the method of food handling, the lack of cleanliness, and the absence of customer service knowledge, all add up to an unsightly and probably unhealthy experience.

Anyone who decides to eat at Vegan Fresh in Loma Linda (24950 Redlands Blvd K, Loma Linda, CA 92354) is certainly taking a risk with their health. Not to mention very poor service.
