    Preheat your pressure cooker by clicking the saute button once.
    Dice your onion, mince your ginger and your garlic.
    Once the pressure cooker displays "HOT" pour in your oil (if omitting oil pour in nothing at this step).
    Saute your whole cumin seeds for about 2 minutes (if omitting oil add about 1/8 of a cup of water, more if necessary).
    Dump every other ingredient from group one in the pressure cooker and saute until the onions begin to turn translucent.
    Add all ingredients from group two, seal the lid, and pressure cook at the "high" pressure for 12 minutes.
    Perform a quick release and allow to cool for a few minutes with the lid off. Serve and enjoy!

    Ingredients

    Ingredient group one:
    1 tablespoon oil (optional if oil free)
    1 tablespoon whole cumin seeds
    1/2 onion, (or 6-9 green onions or 3 shallots)
    1 garlic clove
    3 cm slice of ginger

    Ingredient group two:
    4 cup vegan broth
    2 teaspoon turmeric
    2 teaspoon cumin
    2 teaspoon coriander
    2 teaspoon garam masala
    2 bay leaves
    2 cup lentils
