    Instructions

    Gradually add wet to dry ingredients, stirring with a spoon.
    Knead by hand for a couple minutes on a whole wheat floured surface until stiff & stretchy (add more water if needed)
    Let rest, covered for 15 minutes.
    Flatten out and cut into 5 pieces, 1/2 - 3/4 inch thick.
    Wrap each piece in aluminum foil and steam in a covered pot with a steamer basket for 20-30 minutes depending on thickness.
    Allow to cool and cut into bite size chunks
    Freeze extra servings

    Ingredients

    Dry ingredients:
    2 cups vital wheat gluten
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    1/2 tsp ground black pepper
    1 dash sea salt
    3/4 tbsp whole wheat flour (for kneading surface)

    Wet ingredients:
    3/4 cup + 3 tbsp water
    1/4 cup + 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

      Optional: Add a couple tablespoons of nutritional yeast to the dry mixture to soften dough a bit.
