Tasty, but not sure about ingredients - Edit
We ordered the vegan mixed platter for two with rice. I can’t eat mushrooms, so we asked for that to be separated, and the waiter said they could easily leave it off.
Read moreWe waited a long time for the food, and when it came there were clearly mushrooms. There was also a strange meatball/falafel dish. I asked the waiter if it was meat I was so unsure. He reassured me that it was not, but couldn’t precisely say what it was. It looked like a nearby table had a similar experience.
Despite all of the above the food was very tasty. The dahls and spinach dishes were particularly nice.

We had the vegan special platter for 2. Best Eritrean food I’ve had in London! Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Will definitely come again.

Though this isn't a vegan restaurant, what you get here that you don't from your fast food vegan diner is food with vitamins. Wholefood traditional cooking.

Tryin' Eritrean - Edit
This is pretty close to the Adulis in Oval (same people, slightly different menu, very different feel).
Read moreHere there's a dedicated vegan section. It's good and an interesting experience if you've not had Ethiopian or Eritrean food before. Go for the mixed thingy with injera (a spongy sourdough risen flat-bread). It's much more filling than it looks.
This branch of Adulis is much smaller than its counterpart in Oval and much less swanky. The food's just as good, although I'd say it was slightly on the expensive side.
Pros: Tasty, interesting food
Cons: A tad expensive
