expensive - Edit
The pancake plate with matcha ice cream was delicious but really expensive especially for such a small quantity of food. Crème brûlée was also good, and hummus and chicken tenders were good as well. It was just all so expensive, they required a minimum order amount to allow us to stay, and they had a strict rule of 90 min at the table even when no one was waiting….

Great menu but it's expensive - Edit
In central Shinjuku and it's a hotspot for tourists so the food is expensive. They use meat substitutes. The teriyaki chicken was tasty but it didn't come with rice. The chicken cutlet didn't have much flavor and it came with rice. Their guacamole and vegan mayo were yummy too. Side dishes and desserts were pricy. Portion sizes were ok.

Come for the pancakes - Edit
I ended up going to this place twice, although to be honest the second time was out of convenience. So this was the first and last place I ate in Tokyo.
Read moreI ended up having the teriyaki both times because it turns out it's the only "dinner" option that doesn't seem very European. Sorry, It was certainly tasty and I think if I'd had it at home I would have been much more excited about it, but it was long from the top of my list compared to everything I ate in Tokyo. Given that I ate really well, I'm not complaining, but I hadn't traveled half way around the world to eat pasta.
The first time I went, I had the pancakes as well. They're not what I would call pancakes back home, but I couldn't care less about that because they were delicious and if that's what they call pancakes here, that's fine with me. I think I would have been very happy to come in the afternoon for a coffee and a plate of these as a special dessert. This place would probably be also great as a lunchtime option, albeit a bit of an expensive one.
I regret slightly not going for one of the lunch items (which I think were available in the evening too) just to try something different.
So it's 4 stars for me, well deserved if slightly unenthusiastic.
Pros: Pancakes
Cons: Lack of choice in Japanese options, A little pricey

Good desserts and delicious food - Edit
We really liked the food, although it's a bit pricey. There are small plates for what they cost. The seasonal dessert was delicious.

Fantastic food! - Edit
We stopped in for lunch, without a reservation, and they were able to seat us quickly. The food was amazing, especially the pasta. We also tried some desserts, equally as tasty! The service was excellent, we would definitely come back.

Heavenly Pancakes Indeed - Edit
We knew we wanted to visit this spot to get the pancakes as a dessert, but we weren't really tempted by the savoury menu to get a proper lunch or dinner here. Instead, we booked for 1.45pm just for pancakes. I'm glad we booked, as it was busy when we arrived. By 2.30pm it was really quiet.
Read moreWe ordered two rounds of heavenly pancakes and one strawberry pancakes (seasonal special). In all cases the pancakes were very different from American pancakes I've had before - more like a scone in their texture, with quite a cakey base and a slightly crisp exterior. They were quite dense, but really tasty.
The strawberry pancakes did not skimp on the strawberries, and they were flavoursome too. The heavenly pancakes came with an assortment of fruit, plus nuts and seeds. Both sets came with cream and ice cream, both of which were delicious. No complaints at all about the pancakes, we were three very happy customers!
For drinks, we tried the raspberry cream soda - the cream is actually a scoop of ice cream. It was tasty!
Service was friendly and quite fast - there is a note to say the pancakes take about 15 minutes to prepare, so our expectations were well managed.

Delicious lunch and dessert - Edit
The staff were friendly and the place was cozy.
Read moreWe got the tofu quiche (ate it before thinking to take a photo, oops!), teriyaki bowl, the strawberry special with pastry and the pancakes. Everything was insane, so many flavours, the crust on the strawberry dessert was so crunchy! We are back in Tokyo in 9 days and are wanting to go back.

Decent - Edit
Taste was really nice, staff as everyone in Japan super lovely. Just the portion could've been bigger. The meat replacement tasted amazing! However, most of my plate was just plain rice with lettuce leafs.

Delicious brunch - Edit
Came here just to try the fluffy pancakes and were super satisfied! Do not expect the classic fluffy pancakes, they remind more of a very spongy cake, anyway they were super delicious. I also got the matcha latte with soy milk which was very good.

Quaint and intimate spot in Shinjuku that just so happens to have the most delicious pancakes on the globe. Menu also features faux meat, rice dishes and sizable drink options. Friendly bilingual staff and a dazzling array of Brit pop music pumps thru the speakers.

Yummy fluffy pancakes and more - Edit
A rustic and homely little vegan restaurant in Shinjuku. Reservation is a must. There are set and ala carte options, sweet and savoury. I ordered the soy teriyaki rice meal with a side of their soup of the day, and my husband got pancakes with a rum and raisin ice cream. My savoury dish was delicious but the pancakes were excellent for me - they were light and fluffy. For dessert, we got creme brulee which was good, not too sweet. But also, you can pick up your Tokyo vegan/vegetarian map and guide from here which were helpful and informative.

A lot of people, but worth waiting - Edit
After walking around the Akihabara district, we decided to have lunch at this cafe, there was a small line at the door, after about 10 minutes of waiting, we were seated at a pleasant table on the second floor. We ordered a set with soy meat and rice, corn soup, tofu quiche and ginger ale. All the dishes were very tasty, the service was fast enough, all the staff were polite, a very positive experience.
