Definitely worth it!

We really enjoyed the food, it was yummy and in great quantity.
A bit expensive though, but as all vegan food in Japan.

A lot of people, but worth waiting

After walking around the Akihabara district, we decided to have lunch at this cafe, there was a small line at the door, after about 10 minutes of waiting, we were seated at a pleasant table on the second floor. We ordered a set with soy meat and rice, corn soup, tofu quiche and ginger ale. All the dishes were very tasty, the service was fast enough, all the staff were polite, a very positive experience.

Scrumptious vegan pancakes!

Had made a reservation in advance online for the Shinjuku location for 12pm for a Sunday but the restaurant was nearly empty when I arrived so I could have been seated immediately as a walk-in. That said, by the end of my meal, the restaurant was filling up.

Ordered the following:
- Heavenly Pancakes: LOVED these pancakes paired with cream, a scoop of ice cream, and berries. Would be enjoyed a third pancake (as it only comes with two) and more fruit to provide more freshness to the sugary plate, but otherwise wouldn’t change anything.
- Sweet Potato Mont Blanc Pancakes (seasonal): also delicious pancakes paired with a very sweet caramel-like sauce. This was too sweet for my taste but my partner actually preferred this version of the pancakes, so it’s up to your personal preference and sweet tooth cravings.
- Tofu Quiche (side dish): A bit bland as it has a very mild and subtle but pleasant taste. Could use more seasoning. Decent portion size for a side dish. Appreciated something savory to balance out my palate with the sweetness of the pancakes.
- Masala Chai: Refreshing although make sure to thoroughly stir because the first sip was a bit pungent. Heavy on the ice cubes which meant less actual chai for the price so that was a bit disappointing.

Overall, I’d totally eat at AIN SOPH again next time I’m in Japan, especially knowing there are a few locations available!

Cute little place with nice food.

There was a good spread of options across appetizers, mains and desserts. I tried Hayashi rice and Quiche, both were very good. Must try.

Pros: Food, Service, Music

Must-Try Place

This vegan restaurant, with multiple locations, offers an amazing Japanese fusion menu. I absolutely loved it: it was my first lunch and my last dinner in Japan. Every dish was delicious, from the starters to the omelettes, and from the main courses to the desserts. The price is slightly higher than average, but it’s well worth it.

Cozy place

Staff was great. Teriyaki was kinda salty but rich in every way. Brownie with ice was incredible! I was gonna visit for a second time for a different desert but they were closed.

Great

After reading such mixed reviews of all the Ain Soph restaurants, I really wasn’t expecting much, but I did really enjoy it! I had the Mushroom Ajillo (no picture, 9/10), the Teriyaki Deep-fried Soy Chicken on Rice, and two scoops of Ice Cream (Rum Raisin and Matcha). Loved all of it except the brown rice under the chicken. Also tried the Gluten Free pasta, the Gateau Chocolate, and the Cheesecake and all were great as well.

Consistently decent

Came here seven years apart and it’s still mostly the same menu and STILL the best pancakes on planet earth. 😹

Can’t speak much for the rest of the menu since I just eat their pancakes all the time but everything on the menu looks pretty great too as far as I can tell.

Cute venue, good food

We enjoyed several dishes at Ain Soph including the Karage, soy cutlets and curry. The savoury dishes were good but not amazing. The desserts on the other hand were excellent! The crème brûlée particularly was delicious. Very cute hole in the wall restaurant with lots of steps, low lighting and a lovely atmosphere.

Loved it

This restaurant was a bit on the pricier side and had many "western" options. Not exactly what I was looking for but definitely worth the visit.
The staff was friendly and the food delicious. Exactly what you need after walking 20.000 steps a day.

You can also buy some packed cookies.

Pros: Everything is vegan , Various choices, Clean and welcoming

Cons: A bit pricey - still cheaper than in Germany , Few typically Japanese dishes

Great pancakes

We ordered pancakes with matcha and rum ice cream and they were excellent. Served with vegan whipped cream, nuts and raisins. Very recommended. The pancakes are freshly made each order.
The matcha latte was great, but a little cold.
Kinda pricey (around 2200 for pancakes only) but good as a special treat.

Come for the Pancakes

I normally go here for the Pancakes, which I can highlye recommend. The Karaage is also really good. Last time I had the Hiyashi Rice and the Hamburg Steak, which both were good, but I had better. Prices are okay, vegan food in Japan is always more expensive.

Pros: Pancakes and Karaage

Great vegan food in Tokyo

The food was so good we ended up dining at Ain.Soph Journey twice during our stay in Tokyo.

It's quite a big place compared to other vegan restaurants we visited but the service was still quick and friendly.

The food was really tasty - over the two nights our favourites were the Hayashi Rice (we added extra soy meat), the nutty dry curry and the creme brulé (one of the best I've had).

The prices were very reasonable as well.

The restaurant is a little rustic and basic, but it's clean and bright so not an issue, as far as we were concerned.

Highly recommended.

Pros: The food, Creme brulé , Service

Good vegan food

We almost walked past the restaurant. The small door leads a few steps downstairs to the actual restaurant.

We got the green curry with rice, which was good, had a little kick:
Also the soy cutlet plate with rice was good. Came with mayonnaise and some kind of Worcester sauce, weren’t quite sure what to eat that with. ;)

Compared to the Ain SOPH. journey in Kyoto, the selection is bigger and they have more desserts. But no burgers.

Tasty, cozy location

At first, the restaurant was a bit hard to find, but once we did, we were pleasantly surprised by the location. It looks much more spacious inside than you would expect from the outside. The restaurant has two floors, and all the guests were seated on the second floor. The food was delicious and prepared quickly, and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was cozy, although a fresh coat of paint on the walls wouldn’t hurt. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

Nice fresh food

Stopped here for a meal after our flight landed and it was exactly what we needed. Fresh food, quick service, and refreshing tea. We wanted to try the other locations but didn't get a chance - maybe next time!

Fine for a quick date

I'd never dissuade anyone from going to Ain Soph, and all in all this location is still good for a date night.

Something though was off from other Ain Sophs I've been to. The staff was a tad on the rude side. The food was good, but didn't quite compare to the Kyoto location, even for dishes we'd already tried like the karaage.

Third time in this resto

The menu is bigger in evening than lunch. What make us come back is the waitress Rina who is so nice, kind, always smiling and make us happy to be there. The Japanese hamburger is great. The Hummus is tasty and delicious The summer rools too. And don't forget to try the Creme Brulee, that was very good too. In fact almost all the dishes and dessert are good.

The best in Japan

After a few months I still big this up as the best food I’ve had in Japan. There’s a lot of options but the green curry and the pesto pasta were my favourites. We came back here 3 times

Pros: The best in Japan, Amazing deserts, So many options

Good dinner spot

Reservations are a good idea - however we walked in off the street right on opening time.
We ordered the pasta for a main, cutlets and tofu quiche for sides, and the brownie and cheesecake for dessert.
The pasta was fresh and lite - fyi the large size is supposed to be shared. We ordered the small size and found it was more than enough food for 1 person.
The quiche was tastier compared to the pasta in my opinion, and the cutlets were served with mustard and were alright.
Dessert was good as well, the cheesecake was quite dense and rich, served with a scoop of strawberry ice cream.
The winner of the entire meal was the brownie with caramel sauce and scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
It is not the most affordable place to eat (if you're on a tight budget like us), however we appreciated the friendliness of the staff and how efficient our meals were provided.
