Small menu with focus on hummus. The cream of chickpeas and sesame paste is an original recipe. Makes pita, pickles and seasoning. Full bar. Holds events with live bands or DJs.
Note May 2020: open for outdoor dining. Open Mon-Fri 12:00-14:30, Mon-Sat 18:00-00:00, Sun 18:00-01:00.

Used to be good - Edit
This used to be the best hummus place in town, always good. Things have changed a bit. We've been there twice in the last months. While the hummus is still good, the rest has gotten worse. Last time we got dirty plates, forks, knifes. It took them some time to find clean ones. The portions are getting smaller and more expensive. We ordered three different meals which all were missing an essential ingredient. So I went to the counter to ask for it. They said they had none of it left. They didn't tell us upfront, they didn't care or apologized when confronted nor offered a compensation or discount. That's just unacceptable. I felt like I had to apologize to the people I took out to this place. I won't be going there for a while I think. Oh yeah, don't order soft drinks in glasses, that will be 75% ice and 25% soft drink. Always go for bottles.

Plagwitz meets Israel - Edit
Came here during the winter time, so only inside seating was available. Enjoyed the mood (decor and music), the place definitely has a vibe.
Read moreThe hummus plate and eggplant salad were tasty and fresh, the service was a little cold but not unfriendly.
We gifted the hummus-to-go to friends and they loved it so much that they visited the place themselves.
Pros: Traditional dishes, Appropriate choice of drinks, Tasty food, nice staff
Cons: A little liberal on the opening times, Vegan not specified on the menu

Tasty but not much variety - Edit
It was tasty, but both of the hummus bowls we got were similar. The concept is that it’s mainly pita and hummus, and different toppings. Not even different kinds of hummus. Lacks in variety, but still was good.

Very tasty - Edit
I had the aubergine salad (starter). The portion was not big but it was very yummy! Grilled aubergine with tahin sauce. It came with some pickles and a spicy coriander relish. It was a taste explosion. It came with pita bread which made it more filling. Food is not clearly marked vegan, but the ingredients are listed.

Big portion of Hummus - Edit
I got the classic Hummus teller which consists of a looooot of hummus, a little pita bread, decorated with like three carrot sticks, 1 slice of tomato and onion. The portion was great for that price but the hummus lacked salt in my opinion and it was just too much hummus without anything else for me. Kinda "dry".

Cons: Hummus could be more salty, Too much hummus, not enough veggies

Some of the best hummus in Europe - Edit
Great, great hummus. I had both the regular plate and a special plate, which had the same stunningly good hummus. The regular one has a nice spicy flavor and fermented carrots on top, whereas the specials come loaded with various vegetables and/or eggs.

very nice! - Edit
I tried the original hummus plate and it tasted goo, but I had to reorder two peta breads, because normally you only get one. The hummus tasted good and they gave me a hot sauce and it was very hot, if you like it than you should definitely try it! The ambience is super and the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy and friendly. Generally the dishes are looking very delicious and the staff is good and very friendly. If you’re a short term type, you should definitely be there around 6:00PM, the restaurant is small and it’s very fast full filled. We tried it three times until we got a free place.

One of the best places in Leipzig - Edit
If you like Hummus, this is one of the best places to visit in Leipzig. The place itself is small but they have a nice garden a few metres down the road. They serve hummus with various toppings (you should get some of the Amba!) and great drinks: If you drink alcohol, you should order the Arak Attack Cocktail!

Pros: Great hummus, Great drinks, Nice garden

Great humus overall - Edit
There are not too many options in the menu, but if you are into humus, it is highly recommended.
Read moreThe place is vegetarian (serves eggs). We took the simple Humus with chickpeas, without egg. It was very tasty and a pretty big portion compared to the price.
Strangely enough there is an artificial beach outside where you can sit and eat.
Pros: Tasty, Pretty cheap, The "beach" was strange and cool
Cons: Not too many food options - mostly Hummus, Serves eggs (but optional)
