Delicious food with great service - Edit
The owner greeted us as we came in, is very proud of serving high quality food. The falafel wrap was delicious with all the toppings. The vegan soup was also fantastic. Service was perfect.

Great! - Edit
Loved this place. The owner is energetic and it’s a great atmosphere. They passed out vegan soup and falafel while in line. The food is great too with tons of vegan sides to go with the falafel.

Just delicious - Edit
Kameel is vegan certified. Food has sensational flavor with no salt added at table. Falafel was soft. Steamed veggies had flavor and cooked al dente. Red Cabbage side dish was bursting with flavor and nutrition. Lentils topped with fresh Mediterranean salsa. Soft Pita bread. While in line I was given daily vegan soup sample and free spiced hot drink.

Bingo! I wish Kameel much success.

Easy choice - Edit
A great lunch choice if you're stuck in the Hyatt next door. I got the platter of falafel, which was very spiced and delicious. For my sides the person behind the counter was helpful in pointing out what was vegan (most things since they don't use butter) despite the place being really busy. I got the brown lentils, vegetables, and hummus, all of which were good.

My friends and I eat at Aviva every time we are in town for Dragon Con. Their falafel, lentils, baba ganoush, and tabouli are especially dreamy, and they are always so welcoming.

Unbelievable. - Edit
If I could give 5 stars I would. This place is absolutely incredible. The very best falafel I’ve ever eaten. Everything is cooked separate from the meat. Kameel is vegan and very conscious. Customer service is impeccable.

There is truly no place better - Edit
This is my favourite restaurant. The hospitality, the prices, the FALAFEL……… I take all my friends here. I have to. They have to experience the magic that is Aviva By Kameel. They give out samples to long lines, they greet you and treat you like family. There’s just nowhere else I’d rather be. Order the falafel wrap “Kameel style” and thank me later!

Best falafel sandwich I’ve had - Edit
This place is great! As I walked in the front door, I was greeted by the owner, who is a very pleasant man. As my title suggests, I had the falafel sandwich. It was truly amazing! They had multiple other vegan options, all clearly labeled. If I’m ever in Atlanta again, this will be the first place I come!

Owner is the nicest man!! - Edit
I told the lady I’d never been here before and the owner popped out of the back (he was cooking) and grabbed me to give me a tour of the kitchen. He showed me his big pan of olive oil that he fries the falafel in — he made sure to explain how often he changes it (between every batch) — and explained how he himself is vegan and how most of his recipe are from his late mother. He was seriously the nicest man and you can tell he’s super passionate about his food. I got a falafel plate and the let me split all my side choices so I could try essentially every vegan choice (which there are a lot of). The pita that came with it was fresh and apparently they make the focaccia bread in-house and the second I took a bite I could confirm. It was amazing. It seems silly this place is in a good court but don’t let it fool you. I’m not usually a fan of cooking with oil, but you could taste the olive oil in his dishes (in a good way) which is so different than so many other restaurants that use crap oil and it feels stuck inside your mouth. Not here. I’ll definitely be back! But don’t forget the baklava!! It’s vegan. They make walnut and pistachio versions and both are made with olive oil and maple syrup. So good.

Favorite Restaurant! - Edit
Aviva by Kameel deserves all the praise it can get. The staff knows all their regulars and is friendly to everyone. Kameel himself walks around offering samples, compliments, and smiles.

While I was eating, the staff walked around offering complimentary fresh fruit as well. This place deserves the #1 lunch stop in Atlanta title.

Would give 5 stars - Edit
However as you know Happy Cow only allows 4 if a place serves meat. Amazing service, Kameel himself was handing out samples and was super friendly and entertaining. He informed me that their options are truly vegan as they use different grills and equipment to handle meats and vegan food. Staff working the line was completely knowledgeable about the dishes they were serving, rare to find it seems, especially in a quick service establishment. Food was very delicious. Perfect textures, spice, and taste. A definite reprieve from most of the unhealthy junk available in the Peachtree Center

Not good - Edit
The falafel was kinda gummy inside and not crispy outside.... i did not like the texture at all....I’m not sure why everyone thinks they are so amazing.....the rice was undercooked and had some hard bits.... the bread was very dry and hard...... the lentil stew was good... the sweet potato cinnamon dish was nice...I realize I’m one of maybe 11 people who feels this way but I can’t be the only one... try it out for yourself though.... but I’ll definitely stick to bezoria Mediterranean in midtown..... and to the person who said the owner is ‘vegan’...no he’s clearly not if he’s serving animal products

Probably the friendliest service I've experienced in US! I was welcomed with a lentil soup which was delicious and much appreciated on a cold day. I've had falafel platter, and it was one of the freshest and tastiest falafels ever. Food was amazing, and Kameel was genuinely friendly. Would go again!!

Aviva by Kameel is gem in downtown Atlanta. There are several vegan options, including falafel and veggie platters. Many of the sides are vegan too. The food is Mediterranean inspired. The staff is very knowledgeable about what options are vegan. There is even vegan baklava. I went on a Friday afternoon for lunch and this place was packed but the line moved quickly. The owner was greeting guests and even passing out free samples of soup (vegan). The price is also reasonable given the quantity of food you get.

Yummy! - Edit
I enjoyed this restaurant after visiting centenial park. The food was tasty and fresh. Typical Mediterranean fare - falafel, hummus, etc. The staff was lovely. To Kammel you are not just a customer - you are family. By the way, I had no idea there was a mall in the middle of midtown before visiting here and I'm an Atlantan.

Go, just go! - Edit
Don't let the fact that this place serves meat keep you away. I went with my cousin on 1 April at 11am. There are two sections, one hot bar and one cold bar. Most of the hot bar items were vegan; and all but one of the cold bar items were vegan. The falafel was the best I've ever had. The lentils were rich and tender. The rice was nicely flavored. The green beans were crisp and fresh-tasting. The bread was awesome. I picked up some vegan baklava to go and we each received a small square as a gift to taste on our way out...it was so delicious! I wish I had enough room to sample items from the cold bar.
Read moreThe staff were incredibly friendly and patient with my questions and joy at all the options. I think I interacted with four different staff members, and each of them was pleasant and helpful. We wish we had found this place our first day in Atlanta - we could have gone there every day!

Unexpected Delight - Edit
This restaurant find, in an otherwise uninspiring food court, was such a delight. If I'm in downtown Atlanta I make it a point to have lunch here. The food is fresh, wholesome, and delicious. Vegans (such as myself) as well as meat eaters would be equally comfortable. Kameel himself is as welcoming as the restaurant he has created.

Awesome food fast, Vegan friendly, Big personality - Edit
What a wonderful surprise on my business trip to Atlanta! Being a 100% vegan it is sometimes a challenge on the road to find decent options. I used my Happy Cow app but there weren’t many options popping up for downtown Atlanta (although I spoke with Kameel, the owner, and they are now listed).
Read moreThis is FAR more than a fast food falafel stand – it is incredibly awesome food made fast! Kameel – besides being a brilliant chef – is an incredible showman and personality. You could go there during the busy lunch break – or any other time – and just watch how he interacts with his loving customers. I’ve never really seen anything like it. It’s just a very friendly and special experience to visit his place.
As for the food, while they do serve meat dishes, they have a totally separate vegan grill only for vegan items – Kameel was very excited to show me his dedicated vegan grill and I was very excited to see it!
Besides the best falafel I’ve had in my 50+ years, all of their other vegan dishes and sides are out of this world. Unfortunately Kameel has ruined baba ganoush for me since his version is so unbelievable that eating it anywhere else is just not same anymore. You MUST try the baba ganoush! For me it is like candy – I could probably just eat a big bowl of that with falafel and be happy… but then I’d miss all the other great food such as the quinoa dishes, awesome lentil dishes, superb veggies, delicious eggplant, organic maple syrup sweetened deserts, there are just too many wonderful options to list.
I only wish Aviva was in Chicago, but it’s probably a good thing it is not or I’d eat here every single day like I did when on my recent trip to Atlanta. I have another business trip there in August and can’t wait to visit Kameel again… both for the fantastic food and because he is a just such a wonderful guy. If you do decide to go, please tell him Michael the photographer sent you and that I said hello and hope to see him soon!
PS - I would give this place 5 stars but Happy Cow only allows a maximum of 4 stars for places that also serve meat.
