Great Thai - night out and delivery - Edit
Delivery - Ordered online, items marked on menu. Had the vegan Pad Thai and Tofu Larb salad, Both good but the larb salad was exceptional. Food travelled well, was delivered in biodegradable cardboard packaging.
Read moreIn restaurant - Great atmosphere, menu has a number of clearly marked vegan options incl. entree, curry, noodle and stir fries. The tofu Thai larb was again exceptional, as was the jackfruit boa bun and pomelo betel leaf. Great flavours.

On par with Thailand - great for VG and GF - Edit
Genuinely so good, delicious tofu pad Thai and the betel leaf pomelo is great too. The papaya salad wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was still good, and the crispy rice dish was good too although wish we got the tofu larb instead!

Was here twice during a conference - Edit
The first time I had the North Thai vegan larb which was very good.
Read moreThe second I had the papaya salad. The papaya salad was not spicy enough and just overly sour. I couldn't finish it.
But they have a lot of vegan options and my first meal was very good. It is right next to the conference centre.

Yummmm - Edit
Great vegan range. I had the red curry and a bao. Best choice. The red curry was filling for the price. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Melbourne.

Great location with large portions of delicious vegan food - Edit
I really enjoyed the Vegan Red Curry ("aromatic central Thailand style curry w/ vegan plant-based chikn, lychee, pineapple, cherry tomato, snake beans, Thai basil, chilli, lime & roasted coconut"). I thought that was the only option but when I started to order my friend's lunch I realized that many of the menu items are available vegan by substituting tofu for the meat. I thought the prices were a bit high but the portions are huge; I saved half of mine for another meal but you could also easily share an entree. I didn't realize until I ordered it that rice was not included and this was definitely lots of sauce and needed rice.
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options with cell phone ordering , Scenic riverfront location near local attractions, Large selection of refreshing beverages
Cons: Curry did not come with rice ($5 extra for small)

Brought me the chicken dish by mistake and had mice - Edit
I ordered a clearly marked vegan noodle dish on their online menu, and got brought the chicken version instead, even after me saying to the waiter 'the mushroom vermicelli?'. I didn't realise and ate a bite to discover it was definitely real chicken. When I brought it to their attention they were quick to bring me the right one, but I'm sure the other one got wasted.
Read moreAlso, we were eating in the inclosed veranda area and there was a whole family of mice very clearly running around under a table, the waiters definitely saw them and obviously it was routine to them.
The food itself once I got the right item was nice and the service was quick, even on a busy Friday night.

Bangpop Bang On for Flavour! - Edit
Quite a number of good Vegan options which you can filter on the ordering app. The staff member who served us, even though not Vegan, was excited that we were there for Vegan food. They also do a bottomless booze brunch on weekends but we wanted to select our own menu items. The cocktails are interesting and excellent. We really loved the vibe of the venue and would love to take a group there.
Read moreThe only criticism was that the rice crackers were particularly oily.

Meh - Edit
Was okay, I ended up vomiting a few hours after I ate it, which normally happens to me when I eat highly oily foods - so not a good sign. Appeared short staffed. I found a piece of string in my meal which looked like the string they tie meat up with, and the server just took it and left with no apology. Lovely view but not mind blowing food nor service.

Cons: Oily, Expensive for what it is , Felt rushed

Soooo yummy - Edit
A loud, funky Riverside restaurant. Usually at Thai places there is a green or other Thai curry option, so glad that there was not one here as I tried a selection of many new dishes! The betel leaf entree and the corn fritters were sooo good, full of flavour. The vermicelli noodles were ok, a little sweet for me but hubby who is an omni thought it delicious. The mushrooms and tofu stir-fry was nice but the tofu larb, DELICIOUS! Friendly staff.

Great place to take a mixed group of Omni and veg, very kid friendly, great service. Excellent option near the convention center. Loved the tofu dish I had (got extra chilis to make it spicier though.)

Fresh and tasty thai - Edit
We have been here twice and both times happy with the amount of vegan options (clearly labelled), and the speed and freshness of the food.
Read moreThe rice crackers and corn fritters are great starters.
The larb is a bit spicy for me however they have handy spice level indicators on each menu item.
Delicious cocktails with a Long Thailand Ice Tea a great option.
A little pricey if you add drinks to your meal but a great option in the city.

Watch out for the vegan banquet events - Edit
Every three months, BangPop runs a special vegan night. Usually that involves six courses, with optional matching wines. It's been booked out the last couple of times, I know this for sure and I am not surprised. Amazing food, beautiful presentation and ambience.
Read moreBangPop is on the Yarra river. In summer it's very pleasant to sit outside. It's funky and cool with a great menu and vegan items labelled.
Definitely worth a visit at anytime, but especially for the banquet events.

Perfect for hour long work lunches - Edit
I work in the area and they're my go to restaurant when having lunches with colleagues. They always get the food out with plenty of time for us to be able to enjoy it within the hour we have. All vegan dishes are labelled and the decor is fun with a bar made of Lego pieces.
Read moreThe next vegan banquet mentioned in the previous review is September 28th and $79 a head for just the 6 courses or $109 a head paired with vegan wine. It's also a gluten free menu. I'm seriously tempted.
Pros: Delicious and fresh food. Very helpful with any al
Cons: The location is a bit annoying to get to if you do
