I really don’t know why this place is so highly rated. (Wanted to give 1 ⭐️ but HappyCow adds a star coz it’s vegetarian)

The dishes were underwhelming and poorly prepared. I dare say they were thrown together quickly, the fries were cold and the bread under toasted.

I had the vegan omelet which was great! With spinach, mushrooms and vegan cheese. I also had a concha (matcha flavored) for dessert I took the vanilla one for later- both were great- also had an iced coffee which was good.

the space is quite big and has also a big outside area. it's a good place to work from, the internet is stable and fast.

You need to visit Basic and try the new vegan options 🌱, I really love the scramble tofu, it comes with bread and potatoes, and other new option is the suit with yogurt it is hand made and wow I really love it.

I love Basic Foodie. They have great vegan options and are really accommodating. My favorites are the swanky greens smoothie, the vegan pan de muerto, and the basic burger with fries.

I was skeptical to go, as I don’t usually frequent vegan friendly places (I usually go to vegan only restaurants), but this place was awesome!
Read moreI had the Mother Earth sandwich, and let me tell you it was delicious. The bread and the rest of the ingredients tasted so fresh. I went on a Saturday, and they had a lot of vegan pastries on display (bagels, apple fritters, almond croissants, amongst fresh baked bread). They have some other vegan options throughout the week like chia pudding and dairy alternatives like macadamia milk. I was super fortunate to have chatted with the chef (and I think owner). Wow, so pleasant.
It’s really hard to find good customer service at some of the trendier restaurants here in playa, but this restaurant is just one of those gems. I wish I had taken some photos.
Their coffee was so good, and I wish I had taken my jar since they used a plastic cup and straw, but no big deal. Make sure you inquire about some of the powders in the fraps because they could have whey. I will totally visit here again :-)
