This is an update to my previous review. I met with Cassandra, the manager today. She was very nice and told me that the staff has had training on what vegan means. They also no longer claim that any of the dishes are vegan. Vegans can still eat there, but we have to make sure to let the staff know, and they will ensure only vegan food is served to us. She also added that the crackers were actually vegan and that the staff misunderstood the first time I was there.
I'm only giving 4 stars because there is nothing vegan on the menu, and vegans will have to special order. But this is a big increase from my original review.
This was the original review:
My friends and I ate at the 1st floor restaurant a few days ago. We experienced some serious issues. We are vegan, and were initially happy to find that t only is it vegetarian, but there are items which are labeled vegan. We thought that would be very helpful.
However, they have VERY serious issues with their labeling. The penne pasta dish which was labeled as vegan arrived with cream sauce and the asparagus soup we ordered came with crackers which were made with both milk and eggs. Why would these items possibly be labeled vegan?? In advance we notified the waitress that we were vegan and could not have anything with milk, eggs, or honey. However she still served us these items which were not vegan, even though they were labeled vegan.
We informed the staff, including the manager on duty. He simply stated that the menu came from HQ and he would notify them. I do not know if he followed up with that promise. I sent a WhatsApp message and an email to their corporate office. I'm hoping they will resolve this ASAP. I will update this review after I hear back from them.
Visited the breakfast buffet previously, but the food was just meh. Now that they have the lunch buffet, we gave it a try, and the food for lunch was much better quality. The price is reasonable RM48 Nett for adults (instead of the normal ++ for hotel buffets)

Thanks for letting us know. I saw the menu in January and saw the options that were labelled vegan but we didn't eat there. I'm glad we didn't!
