this deli is slap'ya mama good, ya hear? not only is everything vegan, but it's an actual small-scale deli with a minor arcade concept. the menu changes weekly with the occasional special (most recently, a deliciously balanced peanut sausage larb salad with cabbage, chickpeas, herbs, and chili powder). you can't do better than a massive sandwich for $13 that's a borderline filling meal for two. quick, fast, and delicious.. you can also get pickles, house-made seitan slices, sauces, and cookies to-go.
Read moreas much as i love being an occasional patron, the relative recent shift to house-made focaccia has made it a little too heavy and salty for me. this is completely due to my personal tastes. if anything, it makes sandwich even more of a steal to split between two people or meals!
Pros: low-key vibes, HEARTY and delicious bargains, handmade with love and FLAVOR
Cons: i miss when sandwiches were on leavened baguette

Best Deli Meats in Town! - Edit
Black Market Meats has the best lunch meats, cheeses and sides, such as pasta and potato salad. Whenever I visit my parent’s house in Cleveland, I bring a cooler so I can take their food home with me! The owners are so sweet and make everything in house!

Our first time trying Black Market Meats and it was excellent. We tried the peppers and onions sandwich. It had cheese and, of course their signature vegan deli meat. The bread was also excellent. We will definitely be back. Very nice people as well.

All vegan deli in the heart of Lakewood - Edit
This is a fantastic addition to the food scene in Lakewood. Creative sandwiches, soups, cool hot sauces, sliced vegan "meats" and "cheeses," and decent hours (Wed-Sat, 12-6pm). Wish they were open longer because it's such a cool little place and I'm so happy they're here.

I got a “Subway,” German potato salad, and broccoli salad. Service was friendly and quick. There was a short line that moved quickly. Limited choices but all good. Clean and efficient. Food was delicious, portions were generous. Long crusty French bread for sandwich was awesome! I’ll be back

We had the ham and pesto sandwich and the sausage and banana pepper sandwich.
Read moreA blackboard notice indicated that the bread came from Leavened (a wonderful Tremont bakery and eatery); an employee confirmed that sourdough, from Leavened was the only bread choice.
Of the two sandwiches, the ham and pesto was the favorite - great flavor and it had a little more filling. The sausage and banana was sparse on the inside; so hard to judge.
The venue was only recently opened. We confirmed that the place has no phone number; the employee said she wasn’t sure if they would get a number. The place is open, now, limited days, but the door just had a sign saying “12-6” with no days listed.
There was a long wait for the takeout order. We look forward to a future visit to see what the next experience will be like.
Pros: 100% vegan , Artisan-made protein meat substitutes, Hard-working staff
Cons: No phone number , No public bathrooms , New venue: for now, be prepared to wait
