Unser Lieblingsort - Edit

Amazing Experience! Just go to Chikcpea Eatery - Edit
This review is of both Chickpea Eatery and their vegan cooking class. Firstly, this is a truly family owned group of restaurants. Tu Mai, the founder has made it a point to create a family and community at Chickpea. All of the food is of exceptional quality, 100% vegan and made and served with love. After my first meal at the Da Nang location I traveled to Hoi An for the weekend to take their Vegan Cooking Course. This is far more than a cooking course! It was a 7 hour cultural experience including a tour of Hoi An, a visit to the market, sampling of local vegan items and then a cooking class that was taught with exceptional grace, skill and humor.

AMAZING VEGAN COOKING CLASS!! - Edit
Vegan or not, if you want to learn more about Vietnamese culture and cooking it’s perfect!🤩
Read moreStarted with May taking us around the market to all of her favourite stalls, she made a point of telling us to not feel obligated to buy anything which we appreciated! Tasted differnt fruits and crackers on the walk and she bought each girl a flower as it was Vietnamese women’s day 🥰.
Cooking class was so so interesting and hands on! You get added to a. WhatsApp group for her to send the receipts and pictures over so no need to worry too much about remembering every detail!

The cooking class was SO good! - Edit
I signed up for the cooking class and it was such a wonderful experience! Led by the super friendly and energetic Thu, we were first taken on a market tour. We got to see all the exotic fruit and veg unique to Vietnam, and learn all about them and their medicinal properties. Along the way, we got to sample lots of fruits and delicious vegan snacks! We were also taken to a local tofu manufacturer, and got to learn about all the different types of tofu they make. It was a very hot day, so was grateful for the classic Vietnamese hat provided.
Read moreThe cooking class itself was superb. Thu was with us every step of the way, helping us along and teaching us the best techniques, while taking photos and videos of us and making us laugh a lot!
We made delicious spring rolls, vegan fish sauce, vegan chicken salad and bahn xeo pancakes, and we were constantly topped up with water, ice tea and pineapple juice to keep us hydrated.
We cooked so much food that we were even able to take home the unfinished items for dinner.
It was honestly SO much fun, and I recommend this class to everyone. Thank you Thu for your amazing class and your good vibes. Loved it!
(Also, thanks again for accommodating my gluten-free class request - I was so grateful that you have this option).

Balanced food - Edit
This is a fusion restaurant, offering vegan Vietnamese food, but also other types of dishes (vegan burgers). Unlike many vegan restaurants I have tried in Vietnam, the food here is not sweet. The food is balanced, not too sweet, not too salty, not too spicy.

Highly recommended - Edit
A little gem of heart centered, plant-based goodness in Da Nang.
Read moreChickpea Eatery serves more than just fresh, delicious food it’s serving up a message of kindness, compassion, and conscious living. Every dish is thoughtfully made, bursting with flavor, and leaves you feeling nourished in every way. You can taste the love and care in the cooking.
What makes this place stand out isn’t just the quality ingredients or the creative vegan menu it’s the deeper message they’re sharing. A reminder that how we eat can be aligned with our values: care for animals, the planet, and one another.
It’s rare to find a spot that feeds both the body and soul. I left feeling inspired, grateful, and hopeful. I truly want to see Chickpea thrive, expand, and keep planting seeds of change in the community and beyond.
Highly recommend not just for vegans, but for anyone who wants to eat well and feel good doing it.

Delicious - Edit
I usually find pesto overpowering but decided to give the beef sandwich a try rather than the banh mi. There was just enough pesto to add to the palate but not to take away from the other flavors. Very enjoyable.

Hidden Gem with Incredible Food - Edit
Chickpea Eatery is a great little spot tucked away off the beaten track. It’s a casual place with simple décor, but the food really stands out — absolutely delicious! The mock meats were especially impressive. Staff were friendly and helpful. They even offer vegan cookery classes in English. Everything we tried was skilfully made & full of flavour. Highly recommended

Lots of yummy food - Edit
I liked their menu, which was also in English. I had the banh mi tempeh, which was like a snack size. Then, I wanted to try their vegan cheese with some crackers. It was okay, but I need to admit, I am not into vegan cheese, even though I have been vegan for years. I tried the tiramisu, but the dough, which usually is the base of it, was made out of something different. Therefore, it tasted quite healthy. Next time, I will choose something else.

Quality food!! Must visit - Edit
I'm in love with this place. The intention is right (vegan for the animals, spreading the love), the restaurant is tastefully decorated, the place is very clean and - most importantly - the food is A-ma-zing!
Read moreThe pesto pasta relieved me from my need for some other food than Vietnamese. Don't get me wrong, I love the cuisine, only after 3 months of travelling in Thailand and Vietnam another taste is a welcome change. This pasta dish was perfect. A rich pesto sauce, crunchy croutons and garlicky cherry tomatoes. Oomph...
And don't get me started on the cashew cheese and sourdough bread. Yes!! Thank you for this perfect bread.
Today I came back for lunch, which was also a very pleasant experience. Will come back for sure!
Update: came back for more visits. All the food was amazing. I think I have tastes almost everything off the menu. All good!

Hmmmmm best local food in Da Nang - Edit
I think this is the best restauant which offers the best local food (and perhaps intern. food) in Danang. I had the Hoi An Style Noodle and it was amazing. Also the cold Golden Milk was delicious. My brother had the bao buns, which were also delicious. The vega burger, which was nice, but not the “best ever” ☺️.

Good - Edit
The food was nice, the restaurant space is well decorated. Like most of the vegan places in Đà Nẵng that cater to foreigners, it’s expensive by local standards. There was quite a long delay between the dishes coming out but it was worth the wait. Their bánh bao steamed buns were very good although small.
