Don't get the veggie roast

Went as a group of 2 meat-eaters, 1 vegetarian and 1 vegan - confirmed on phone when booking that there's a vegan roast. Upon arrival, the waiter gave a menu and said the Sunday roasts are just a 'verbal menu' - saying you can get beef roast, chicken roast, or veggie roast, and that the veggie one is vegan. So two of us ordered that, but had I seen a menu showing the price and what it comprised of, I certainly wouldn't have!
It was just the side vegetables & gravy that you get in a meat roast, plus a big piece of cauliflower. So, the plain cauliflower replaced the meat, stuffing, Yorkshire pud and creamed swede of the main roast. Naturally we thought this would be cheaper, but sadly when the bill arrived we were all charged £14...!
I already felt a bit awkward from the beginning because I googled the wines on the menu and picked one that was vegan, but it turned out they were serving a different wine. The waiter went and checked and the replacement wasn't vegan, then he checked all the white wines and then all the red wines... I really did end up just having water and vegetables at this restaurant 😅
