Growing LB Chain Shop

With Lord Windsors closed for the time being after a drunk drove through the front windows, I was looking for a new coffeehouse to be my "second place" this summer. Luckily I noticed this spot -- which I think opened fairly recently -- right on the corner of what's starting to become a pretty cool block of hip small businesses. It's got a clean design aesthetic with ample indoor seating that includes window bar style seating and cafe style seating, plus a good amount of outdoor seating, as well. Cranking air conditioner. Decent tunes. Friendly staff.

They don't roast their own beans like Lord Windsor or Rose Park do, but they offer a number of fancier style coffee drinks. I noticed that The Instigator seemed to be the most popular, so I tried that first and TBH I am finding it hard to move on now. It's a shaken latte style drink sweetened with brown sugar and maple that is super delicious with oat milk. I haven't even tried it with almond milk yet. They offered me cinnamon on it last time but I said, "let's not mess with perfection!" Like, literally everyone orders that drink!

UPDATE:

I have since tried the cold brew, iced americano, oat latte, and oat cappuccino here and there but I always end up getting The Instigator on my next visit.

Sadly they dropped their vegan-friendly avocado toast at least a year ago, and its been even longer since they carried Lobo Cuban Food’s vegan pastries. Both are sorely missed. They do seem to keep a vegan chocolate donut in the pastry case but I wasn’t impressed by it. There may be a toast and jam option now but i don’t have details.

CoffeeDrunk has opened two more locations in Long Beach that I have not visited but I assume the menus are the same.
