Vegan hot pot

The vegan options were clearly labelled and there were lots to choose from.
We got the bean curd platter, noodles, mushrooms, rice cakes and some veggies - as well as 2 different broths (mushroom and spicy)
The mushroom broth was delicious but the spicy one was too spicy!
The whole experience was fun but I wouldn’t go again. Felt a bit repetitive after a while, especially as all the bean curds tasted the same.

Cool self cooking Chinese restaurant

The vegan menu choices were good. The idea is you have a pan of soup/broth on a hot plate in the middle of the table. You then dip/ soak your chosen ordered items in the boiling soup for 30-60 seconds then eat with rice or self-cooked noodles. Just take care with the soup spiciness. I ordered medium spicy - and it was almost too spicy for me. I’d recommend mild.

Pros: Self cooking set up, Tofu platter, Needle mushrooms

Cons: Cash payments only

Amazing for vegans

I really thought that a traditional hot pot wouldn't be "as good" without the meat and seafood, but I was incredibly wrong.

My partner and I ordered the split broth (spicy - mild and mushroom varieties) with beancurd selection, vegetable selection and mushroom selection with udon noodles. This was probably a little too much for two people and next time I would just get the oyster mushrooms and chinese cabbage (my favourites from the mushroom and veg selection respectively). Definitely recommend getting one beancurd/gluten platter per two people though as the added vegan protein really made it stand out. My favourite topping was the spicy satay sauce from the sauce bar with extra peanuts to sprinkle on top. Delicious!

Staff were knowledgeable about what was vegan and more than happy to check with the kitchens on certain items, but most were marked by default.

The handmade watermelon juice was also a great addition!

Will definitely be back again.
