Not bad. I had a good meal from here. - Edit
I was craving Indian food and was getting ready to order from my go-to (Chicago Curry House), but then decided to check HappyCow for anything new that might be worth checking out. I found this place and decided to give them a shot.
Read moreSo, like every Indian place, the have "veg" and "Non Veg." The question is, are the veg items vegan. I checked out their menu on their web site and a few things are listed as vegan, but only a few. However, some of the things listed as vegetarian are certainly vegan, so this told me that they really have an inconsistency in labeling on their menu. This is very common with a lot of restaurants, so I didn't hold this against them. When I was ready to place my order, I called and confirmed that the dishes I was ready to order (via DoorDash) were 100% vegan. I was ordering the saag chana, the aloo gobi masala, the gobi manchurian, and some roti. I wanted to triple check on the aloo gobi masala. They confirmed and reconfirmed (said that I have a very sensitive dairy allergy) and they assured me that everything was vegan.
The food came quickly and was packaged well. The dishes have a notation on the menu that they do not come with rice. I did not order any rice, but I still got enough rice to feed a small village. I ordered everything at the highest spice level, but the only dish that was spicy was the gobi Manchurian. The saag chana was exactly what I wanted. Lot's of spinach and chana, with good spices. The gobi Manchurian was very good. I really enjoyed it. The aloo gobi masala was good, but aloo gobi is my favorite dish and I am not used to having a soupy/stewy consistency to aloo gobi, so it just wasn't as good (personal preference). I scarfed down everything.
