Immerse me in your splendour

A long overdue catchup with fellow Newcastle Happy Cow Ambassador, the fine Dead Pledge. If you were on a train this would be first class carriage Indian Street food dining. Quite similar to the Bundobust concept of Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool but in more opulent surroundings. We shared okra fries, roti, Bombay potatoes, a beautifully fragrant and garlic rich tadka daal and a truly delicious Kattha Meetha Baingan eggplant dish. The two mini aubergines were cooked to absolute perfection swimming in an aromatic and spicy tomato onion based sauce. Judging by the crowds Dakwala looks like becoming a very successful part of Newcastle’s vibrant restaurant scene.

Pros: Delicious food , Great surroundings , VG labelled wines

Dakwala Delights!

Very welcoming restaurant, with stylish decor and relaxing ambience.

I shared some crackling okra fries, which were lightly battered, nicely spiced and absolutely delicious. Even my dad enjoyed them.

For my main I got the Punjabi Chole chickpeas curry, which was so flavourful and perfectly spiced. Great roti, poppadoms and basmati rice too.

Pros: Great food, Staff and decor , Vibe

Cons: Meat
