Amazing and different food! - Edit
Dervish is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Berlin! The staff is nice, cosy decor and amazing food! (A part from a dumpling-like starter I was not fan of, all the other dishes is, and looks amazing)
Read moreSo if you want to try a new kind of kitchen, in this case (primary) Uzbek, I will definitely recommend Dervish.

Uzbek Food - Edit
my first time trying Uzbek food, and I loved it! The small, tapas-style dishes were flavorful, and the food came out quickly. Cash only. Restaurant is located in a lovely neighborhood.

Something Special - Edit
The restaurant is very cozy and cute. If you want to, you can sit on the ground which can add to the experience.

Toll!

Unique opportunity to experience vegan Uzbek cuisine - Edit
Dervish might be of the only one restaurants where you can enjoy Uzbek vegan cuisine, as from my experience travelling in Uzbekistan - vegan (or even vegetarian) food is difficult to come by. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, both set menus and smaller appetizers/starters. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite long for our food, but the waiter did offer us a (delicious!) tiramisu from the house to make up for it. The meal size is quite small, and relatively expensive.
Read morePros: Friendly service, Variety of dishes , Authentic decorated interior
Cons: Long waiting time for food (+ 40 minutes), Small portion sizes, Comparatively expensive

Dervish - Edit
Never been to an Uzbek restaurant before so it was super exciting to go there and experience the vibe! The interior was really cosy and they played what I guess was Uzbek traditional music which really gave the right vibe. Menu has just the right amount of dishes to choose from and we ended up having potato manti platter and the qutab platter with ayran to drink and we really liked everything. The manti and the qutab breads didn't have a lot of flavour which might be the only slightly negative feedback I have but the sauces were excellent and added a lot of flavour so we were really happy with the whole experience!

Best Vegan Restaurant in Berlin. Cash only. - Edit
For me, it was by far the best restaurant experience in Berlin. The food, sourced from Uzbekistan, was absolutely incredible, good quantities at a reasonable price. I'll say it again about the dishes, which not only arrived at the table looking incredible, but were also super delicious. We found it to be the best vegan restaurant during our short stay in Berlin. The waiter was from Uzbekistan, extremely friendly and very reminiscent of Brazilians. From there I felt "at home". Payment by cash only.
Daí me senti “em casa”. Pagamento somente em dinheiro.

A little bit hit and miss - Edit
This is a 3.5* for me. I considered giving it 4 because I've never seen a vegan Uzbek restaurant before. Some things were great but some things were not so exciting.
Read moreWe had a kofta to start. This was excellent, good savoury flavours and a nice rich tomato sauce. We then shared a manti (dumpling) plate and a flatbread plate.
We wanted the potato manti plate but they were short so we got some potato and some pumpkin steamed manti. They were good sized dumplings that were well filled. The potato ones were delicious, combined with some extra seasoning and aromatics. The pumpkin ones felt under seasoned and just tasted of pumpkin which was too sweet for me. This dish came with a pot of yogurt sauce with lots of salad bits in it. It was quite heavy on dill, which I enjoyed but my partner is not a big dill fan.
We also got a qutab plate (flatbread), which came with a bunch of different sauces. One flatbread was filled with spinach and was a little bit dull. The other was filled with potato and cheese, this was delicious. The sauces weren't particularly good. The hummus was a bit bland, there was a tomato/vegetable thing which was okay but not really bursting with flavour. The yoghurt dip was tasty and the same stuff that came with the manti (minus the vegetables) and finally there was a bit of a spicy/sweet dip that I quite enjoyed.
We also had mango lassis which were tasty.
A mixed bag but I would go back again and try a few more things.
