Delicious! - Edit
They have a separate vegan menu with tons of amazing options. We got the vegan platter and it was great to share, very filling, and delicious. I definitely recommend it!

Filling portions and friendly staff - Edit
I had a catering order for a school club and the Manager was super sweet and accomodating! She even called to confirm parts of the order and delivered the food herself. They kept all of the vegan options separate and clearly labeled them. I got the vegan platter and it was so delicious and very filling (I'll have leftovers for a little while 😄)

Tomato base - Edit
I get the yellow curried chickpeas but anything else I've tried isn't for me. A lot of things are soft in texture and I have a sensory issue so it's hard for me to eat Ethiopian food despite me typically liking the flavor.

Amazing - Edit
By far, some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. It’s a treat when I’m visiting ATL. I appreciate the vegan options and the kind staff.
Read moreThe vegan platter is always my go-to, but I also tried their vegan tibs this time around. It was delicious and made from beyond meat.

Five stars! - Edit
I got the vegan platter. It's really the best value since you get to try so many different dishes, and you get injera with it. It was so much food that I took half of it to go but promptly finished the rest for dinner later.

Would give 3.75 really - Edit
We had the vegan plate and it was BIG. We were surprised that Injera bread was an add-on (that hasn’t been our experience at other Ethiopian restaurants), but we were surprised with the many options included in the vegan plate. Not all of them were what I was looking for, but they certainly were filling.

5 Star - Edit
Would give Desta 5 stars, but they only allow 4 for restaurants that are not fully vegan. Love the vegan platter, could eat this everyday.

Vegan platter $16.99 - Edit
Yum! Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait for a table (windy day). There was no host this time. Highly recommend the Vegan Platter.
Read moreSo much food that we had to force ourselves to finish! Ordered another to-go 😋. The collard greens was a bit salty to me but others loved it. Will definitely be back.

So good in my neighborhood - Edit
Desta is 5 minutes from my home. Tonight was my first time to eat there as a WFPB no oil eater. I got the Vegan Platter and everything was delicious. There was oil in the dishes, but I knew that when ordering (even though the nice lady taking my order over the phone said she could make the meal oil-free, I knew that had to do with butter — all of those “side dishes” are made in bulk so there was no way to accommodate a single person’s request). It was a birthday dinner and I didn’t want to cook, so oil was the sacrifice. So, so good.

Heaven has a name - Edit
UGH, it was that good! I had a vegan platter w/ all types of lentils, potatoes and the injeera (spongy flatbread) I could eat alone though you use it to eat the other food. There’s a nice outdoor seating area too! You leave feeling full & satisfied. Beware though that they have a new menu w/ new prices. They gave us an old menu (who knows why) and my friend had to confront them about a price issue.

oughta be 5-stars - Edit
a 5-Star rating is only available for a fully vegan or vegetarian restaurant, but the fully vegan platter I had was fully deserving of 5 stars. And the folks there give the warmest welcome you could ask for!

Love Desta! - Edit
Desta is sooo delicious. Hands down some of the best vegan offerings in Atlanta. The vegan platter has all kinds of delicious veggie options as well as a large injera (flatbread). My favorite is the collard greens. If you're in town, give it a try! It may be out of your comfort zone, but it's well worth it!

My favorite Ethiopian restaurant - Edit
Whenever I'm in Atlanta I eat at Desta at least once. Ove gotten my family and many friends hooked too. I usually order the vegan platter, but I also love the rich and spicy fir fir. Desta has the best gomen (collards), FYI

A revelation! - Edit
Visiting friends nearby and went here yesterday for lunch on their recommendation. I've never had Ethiopian cuisine before, but thanks to Desta, it is a new favorite! Staff were helpful and so friendly, service was prompt, the place was super busy but kept immaculate. It was obvious that this was a regular dining spot for most of the people we saw, and if I lived in this area, it would be for me as well. I'll have to be satisfied with as many meals there as I can get while I'm in town.

Excellent - Edit
I've been here many times with friends so we can all have what we want. The food is always good - very fresh and tasty. The staff is friendly. They have a veggie menu with a veggie sampler but vegans should note that some items contain butter. Ask first.
