Bueno y barato!!

Nos ha encantado la comida, los platos son ricos, las raciones abundantes y el servicio rápido y eficaz. Recomiendo las albóndigas de jackfruit, deliciosas!!! Además los precios son súper razonables.

Nice little space

We tried bistro, where you can buy and pay according weight of daily menu and many more hot and cold food normaly fixed price. You can pay by card. It was tasty and personal was nice. Vegan foods have green dot, so it is easy to choose.

Great improvement

I wanted to go since several years ago, but they lacked in vegan dishes. Now they have many, except for desserts.
Service is more than excellent and food is delicious!!
Ecocentro has everything: 2 restaurants, one of them buffet, one shop with books, a small supermarket and a school where I attended a meeting with Emilio Carrillo talking about spirituality. It was really nice!!
If you like to have organic food, this is one of the few places in Madrid.

Pros: Excellent staff, Delicious food

Cons: Not many vegan desserts, Egg and cheese

Tienda enorme + restaurante.

Pretty good

I've never eaten at the buffet but been at the restaurant a few times. In fact I'd be a regular if it were more centrally located because I've always enjoyed their food. Plenty of vegan dishes to choose from, all really tasty, but they're not labelled in the menu so you'll have to ask the nice waiter/waitress which ones are suitable for vegans (funnily enough, raw vegan dishes are properly labelled). Also don't forget to ask for the daily soup which is also vegan.

Pros: wide range of vegan dishes, tasty food

Cons: vegan not labelled, servings a bit scarce, not centrally located

Ecological centre where you can eat or do shopping at any time of the day

Ecocentro's opening hours are very ample (as for Spanish usual opening hours).
The buffet offers a variety of cold and hot dishes and very tasty deserts.
The restaurant in the basement is a very quiet and cosy place. The portions there are quite big and the offer is varied and ofter seasonal.

Pros: quality-price ratio, variety

A little disppointed

Vegan burger tasted of nothing. Wish I'd had a salad. Was busy, which is usually a good sign.

NB - I went again, and my dish was delicious, fresh and yum. Not adjusting the score as my colleague's was "a little tastless".

Pros: Would visit again

Cons: Tasteless first visit.

Something big is happening here

This place stands out of the options in Madrid, it was probably the very first vegetarian restaurant in Madrid, back in the early nineties. The place is huge itself, not only the restaurant, with two differents areas and floors, one with buffet and the other one à la carte. On the top of that it got a vegetarian shop next to it and a center for yoga, massage and this kind of new era things, that makes the whole of it a big oasis of veggie stuff in Madrid. The food i had here was always quite good, just a pity they dont go fully vegan, as it happens to many old vegetarian restaurants its difficult for them to change, and they got trapped in this old vegetarian past, go ahead and make the step into this new vegan revolution, you are worth it! Ditch the dairy!

Cons: Vegetarian and not vegan :(

First veggie in Madrid

I was here in June 2018 with friends and discovered that I actually have been here already in 2011 since it was very close to where I lived at the time. It is as I remember it, a bit of canteen with buffet. According to my friends this was the first veggie place in Madrid and it's impressive that it's still here 25 years later, viva veg!

Pros: Service and opening hours!, Environmental with weighing system, Simple but tasty food

Cons: Not vegan

perfect lunch place

EcoCentro consists of 2 stores and 2 restaurants (a la carte and buffet/self-service). The buffet restaurant, which I visit frequently is perfect for lunches, though sometimes can be very busy. There are warm meals such as burgers, pasta, stir fry meals, pizzas etc that are on the standard menu and that you can order and then there is a self-service buffet incl. daily changing soups, salads, sandwiches and prepared plates that you can ask them to heat up. Also there are many options on deserts, cakes and juices. The price is very good, but varies dep. on your choice. You can order a burger w/fries or have a soup or a sandwich for less than 4 Euros. Salads go by weight. They have a menu option, where you can combine plates incl water and bread for a fixed price.

Pros: daily changing options - many vegan , friendly staff , price

Cons: sometimes can be crowded

Different dining options

The main restaurant has very little in the line of vegan options which is a real shame. They do have a salad buffet in a different section which I really like going to as you can put a number of different salads in the same bowl. Cakes are quite good as well. Tried the juices a couple of times and they tasted very watery unfortunately.

Good self-service cafeteria

I ate here several times during my stay. There is a self-service cafeteria on the entrance floor and a full-service restaurant down below. I only ate at the cafeteria, which had an excellent salad bar (pay by weight) and choice of 2 soups which changed every day as well as standard hot dishes and a daily menu. I usually had a soup and salad (especially enjoyed the carrot soup and vegetable soup). Depending on how much salad you put into the container this should come to about 9-11 euro. The food was tasty and fresh. It is frequented by locals and there were always many people eating there, which testifies to its popularity. There is also free wifi - just ask for the password.

Pros: salad bar with good selection, quick servcie if you just take the salad bar, nice place for single visitors to eat

Cons: difficult to find the first time, for a hot dish you will wait up to 15 minutes

big, classic, good, expensive

a classic
upstairs has two big shops and self service food
downstairs is a nice clean restaurant, "cold" and a little expensive, not for a romantic date, better for a business small meeting.

Pros: big, nice

Positive vibes

I ate in the moderately priced self-service canteen downstairs which had plenty of seating. There were a number of pre-made dishes along with soup, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Everything labelled with a green circle was vegan and there was quite a lot of choice. Ingredients were listed in Spanish for each dish.

Some English was spoken by the staff and meditation music was playing which gave the place a peaceful atmosphere.

Pros: Vegan options, Peaceful ambience , Moderate price

Excellent

Very nice place. Buffet deli + restaurant in the basement. The deli is very convenient. Very good food and not expensive. Vegan options clearly labelled and ingredients listed - it is worth it double checking as sometimes labels are misplaced... Wide range of healthy salads, soups, juices and smoothies, sandwiches and desserts, and some hot dishes. You can combine them as you like. Extended opening hours. Nice atmosphere.
The deli can be very busy at lunch time and sometimes there are not tables available - otherwise is a paradise for vegetarians and vegans.

Pros: Very good food, Vegan options, Friendly staff, nice vibe

Cons: Sometimes very busy

Deli is perfect for lunch

I went to visit a friend in Madrid and during my trip ate here twice. We ate in the deli which I thought was great for lunch.

There is a LOT of choice which can be slightly overwhelming, and information about all ingredients in each dish. The deli bar contains soups, salads which you can get a selection of and pay by weight), sandwiches, pre-prepared plates (e.g. seitan and rice which they will heat up) and a large selection of cakes and other desserts (including vegan cakes). These things can be combined in a 2 course or 3 course meal, although the 3 course meal would be very heavy for lunch for one person! There is also an a la carte menu with more choice.

They also had good coffee and fresh juices.

I thought the food was good and tasted home cooked although not out of the ordinary - my friends had the vegetable stew/soup which was very comforting. I had an asian noodle dish which was filling, although not as full of flavours as I had hoped. I also had a vegan cake which was good.

Pros: Lots of choice, Filling

Cons: Average food

Ecocentro

This is a big restaurant with two floors, spacious and quiet. Varied menu options. Good quality, taste and quantity of food. Perfect for business meals. Low mobile coverage in underground area. Ever full with people but ever with availability. Quick service. Good quality/price relationship. Store, bookshop, and activity areas in separate premises.

Pros: good food, spacious
