Excellent Marinara

Pizza was fantastic - marinara sauce was great! One of the best pizzas I've eaten in Italy. They didn't have the vegan cheese when I asked but I didn't mind as I prefer a Marinara anyway.
Luckily we didn't have to wait for a table as we had our baby with us but the line was very long. Most staff were very kind and helpful.

Terrible service/staff, received non-vegan cheese

Staff is super rude. We wanted to order the Marinara and vegan Umberto to take away. Guy at the counter made several mistakes writing down our order (e.g. Margarita instead of Marinara) and kept repeating back "si, umberto" when asked for "umberto vegana". Even after being clear several times we had to go back to correct the order after seeing it was wrong on the bill they gave us. Ended up asking specifically for vegan a total of 5ish times, and they still gave us the Umberto with regular cheese.

The place wasn't even busy yet when we got there, I see zero excuse for this happening other than they simply do not care at all

Also, the pizza itself is okay but nothing special. This place is definitely not worth the hype, had much better (vegan) pizza in the city. Do not go here.

Great

victim of its own popularity, the queue is endless but the fried pizza with only tomato is delicious and costs only €4! (Also the size, it was double my hand!)

Pros: Size, Price, Quick service

Cons: Long queue, Not many vegan options

The best pizza I had in Naples

Had the marinara pizza - was so good. The atmosphere was great, we didn’t have to wait very long to be seated, price was good too 👍

Great pizzas

We ordered the 2 vegan pizzas they had on the menu - the marinara and the Umberto (which they were out of vegan cheese for). Both were yum, but I thought the marinara was tastier and about half the price of the Umberto.

No vegan cheese!

Disappointed that they didn’t have the vegan cheese or the tofu.

Pizzeria storica

Pizzeria storica nel centro storico di Napoli.
Due opzioni vegane a menu: marinara e un’altra con formaggio di soia.
A cena normalmente bisogna fare fila di un’oretta per sedersi.

Pros: Posizione centrale, Locale caratteristico

Cons: Attesa per sedersi

Neapolitan thin crust pizza with Vegan Cheese

It was refreshing to find a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria that had vegan cheese available. Unfortunately they were out of tofu, so the toppings included were the aforementioned non-dairy cheese, two different kinds of cherry tomatoes, EV olive oil and fresh basil leaves. Looking back, I guess it was basically a vegan Margheritta pizza. The name on the menu is “Umberto” and you need to specify you want the vegan version.

Pros: Food, Service, Location

Cons: They were out of tofu

Nice but over hyped

Managed to come here just as they opened so the queue was small. The pizza is nice but not any better than pizza I had anywhere else. The wait time can be long and the place is renowned but don't expect to get in and out fast!

Vegan cheese !! Worth the hype

Wasn’t sure we’d bother since it’s the most busy pizzeria in Naples but so glad we did ! Vegan cheese option clearly marked on the menu, wins best vegan pizza!!

Lekkere marina

Heerlijke marinara pizza. Groot, wij hebben 1 pizza met 2 gedeeld. Je kan ook andere pizza’s veganizen door de mozzarella weg te laten.

Pros: Lekker, Vegan

Best pizza in Naples

Watched a YouTube video where someone said to skip the Eat Pray Love restaurant and go here instead. Never visited that one but this has more seats and had a kickass marinara, seriously so good. Not mad about skipping the famous one. Also get some wine, you get like a half bottle. Think we paid 25€ for a Margarita, Marinara, two big peronis and the wine. Go here.

Pros: Best pizza I’ve had in Italy, Lots of seats, Cheap

Cons: Big lines forming after 18, You will get drunk from one vino rosso

The best 🍕

Simple but delicious. Many pizzerias try to make fancy vegan pizzas and forget that simple is sometimes the best.

Pros: Simple, Delicious , Not expensive

1 option that wasn’t worth the hype

First, the crowds around this place are insane. You have to go to the front of the crowd and put your name in. They eventually will call your name over a loud speaker (took about 30 mins for us at 2:30pm on a Friday)
On the menu they have one vegan option listed. It was the umberto, which is a pizza with olive oil, tomato’s, and grated tofu. I’m a tofu lover, but it was not good. I wouldn’t have tasted a difference with or without it. I wish they would have seasoned it somehow.
The dough was really good, but it was undercooked!!! Both of our pizzas were not fully done😡
Wish that my vegan one had marinara or something else because it just tasted like bread and raw tomato. Not good.

Not worth the hype and time for vegans.

Be careful…

I ordered the option that is marked as vegan. They brought me a pizza full of cheese. I thought maybe it was vegan cheese…it wasn’t. I asked and they brought me a vegan one, which was delicious. But still, that’s a pretty basic mess up and I can’t give them more than two stars for it.

Tolle Pizzeria, bei der man teilweise lange warten muss, einen Platz zu bekommen, aber es lohnt sich!!!

Famous pizza place in Napoli

Wanted to check out this famous artisan pizza place in Napoli and to our surprise we found that they even provide a vegan pizza option. Pizza was good but in general I have a preference for thinner crust integrale dough pizza.

Best marinara I ever had

I was excited that this place was supposed to have tofu. The menu even stated a vegan option pizza, where tofu replaced the cheese. But they didn’t have it, which was a big disappointment. However the marinara that I opted for was the best I ever had and the service was really good, despite the fact that they were really busy.

Pros: Best marinara pizza ever

Cons: Didn’t have the vegan choice advertised

Best marinara!

Their marinara is divine.

I have also tried their fake cheese pizza and am not a big fan. Stick to the classic!

Pros: best marinara in town, multiple vegan options, ample seating

Cons: serves meat

tasty

they had a vegan option which was a pleasant surprise, tomato and tofu substitute for cheese with basil and olive oil. would suggest getting the marinara tho as the vegan topping for the Umberto had no tomato sauce, tho the dough was delicious. only 3* due to service being lacklustre

Beste Preise

Pros: Seeehr lecker, Seeehr günstig, Seeehr fluffiger Teig

Cons: Keine Nachteile

probably the best marinara i got so far

Even tho marinara is the most simple pizza you can get they make it really special.
The sauce is full of flavour and really garlicky. There was also a lot of basil and oregano which made it even more delicious. The dough was really soft as it supposed to be in Naples.
Be prepared for a line because it's a really popular place here ☺️

Not to my liking at all

The line was long outside so our expectations were high but the waitress wasn't very friendly and the pies weren't good at all, both vegan and regular.
The dough was so thin, we couldn't even hold the pieces straight (had to fold/roll them). For the vegan pizza they say they can turn any kind on the menu to vegan, but they just use grated tofu instead of vegan cheese?! It gives absolutely no flavor to the pizza. Also, the tomato sauce felt raw, as if it wasn't in the oven with the pizza, but added later.
It was my first pizza in Italy ever and I was really disappointed.
