best vegan food in CM - Edit
I lived in CM for 2 months and this place beat every other vegan spot out of the water. Not only did they have an extensive selection, everything you order from pad Thai to burgers is scrumptious. I would highly recommend their beet burger. Everyone raves about the mushroom one but I ended up preferring the beet one.
Read moreThey also have great coffee which they will serve you with coconut.
More than anything though it’s good for groups and is one of the few places with air conditioning. They also play jazz music all day which is super relaxing!

AMAZZZZING - Edit
Everything about this cafe is literally amazing. My friend and I sat outside for breakfast here on a Monday morning and were greeted as soon as we got here. I got the muesli bowl and she got the scrambled tofu. The portion sizes are huge and the quality of the food is even better. We can’t wait to come back again tomorrow! Also if you’re a coffee lover, get the caramel macchiato- it’s the best.

AMAZING dishes ! - Edit
I stayed 3 weeks in Chiang Mai, and I ate to this restaurant at least once per day ! I tested a lot of different dishes and was never disappointed (however, the brownie is a bit dry). My favorites dishes was the wrap masaman, all the burgers, and the chocolate cake (one of the best I ever ate !). If you stay in Chiang Mai, it's a must do !

Nice vegan eatery - Edit
It's a nice vegan eatery with a pleasant atmosphere. I heard the mushroom burger was good so I ordered the mushroom steak with french fries with their veganaise. The veganaise was nice and the french fries were nice and thin and crisp. The mushroom steak was really good as well the gravy that went with it.
Read moreWe also shared the falafel platter but that was not very exciting.
Had a lovely banana and chocolate smoothie and was able to get them to change the almond milk to coconut milk, as I'm a bit allergic and don't like almond milk.

Pros: divine mushroom steak, comfortable chilled seating, good smoothie

deliciousness - Edit
Okay soooo i really enjoyed eating here with a friend. Super chill atmosphere, seating inside or patio.
Read moreI have the khao soi and wow the broth/ soup was so tasty and creamy . Highly recommend . It was 10/10 oh also the portion was huge , i only ate 75% but was super stuffed so my friend gladly finished it off . I believe it was 120 bath
My friend had the beet burger and loved it i had a bite and wasn’t too crazy about it only because I’m not a huge burger fan to begin with . One thing he noticed tho is that they used “real bread” which i guess is hard to come by... maybe in Chiangmai or just Thailand in general idk. His was also around the same price i think.
So it was more costly that other options but it’s still only like $5 for a decent portion and super delicious food .
I may come back for more 😋

Holy Grail Mushroom Burger - Edit
It’s a nice change from the usual earthy, casual feel most vegan spots in Chiang Mai go for! This place is comparable to restaurants back in states and the food is fairly priced to boot(100-180Baht)!!
Read moreMUST TRY THEIR MUSHROOM BURGER—made with mushroom stems that give the patty a hearty texture. And the flavor... absolutely delicious.
I’ve also tried their Thai spaghetti which was pretty good (pasta was al dente :) ) and their chocolate banana shake which was rich and silky. The mushroom zucchini sandwich was also an item I’d order again, I got one half with hummus and the other with pesto, still not sure which I liked more.
No complaints, can’t wait to come back!
Pros: mushroom burger, good portions, fairly priced, lot

This place is amazing! We order the mushrooms burguer and the eggplant and quinoa burguer and both were delicious and huge. The price is perfect for the food that they offer . It's just a little bit more expensive than the others places around . I totally recommend it. Everything is vegan. We also try the mango passion fruit cheese cake and we love it. The staff is the best and they all speak English

This place is amazing. Perhaps the best vegan food I’ve ever eaten. We arrived 10 minutes before closing thinking we’d get turned away but the staff were really welcoming and lovely. Ordered the Khao Soi and spring rolls which were insanely delicious and filling. Nice to eat one of the local dishes cruelty free. If you’re in Chiang Mai definitely come here.

The Mushroom Burger! - Edit
I visited this restaurant on my second to last night in Chiang Mai. Having enjoyed the fresh fayre from the sister restaurant Reform Kafe, I came here for my junk food fix after reading reviews. I loved the mushroom burger so much I came back again the following day! For anyone who has tried the impossible burger, the taste and texture of the mushroom burger is very similar! Add to that some crispy potato wedges and homemade veganaise (which is more like sour cream), and I was in glutenous heaven! I could see people enjoying other dishes from the menu and all looked fantastic. A must visit in Chiang Mai.

GoodSouls has the best Vegan burgers in town. The mushroom burger is so tasty with a real hamburger bun. I have also enjoyed the penne arabiatta and the Burmese tea salad but it is the burger, the mushroom burger.

Modern vegan restaurant - Edit
You could see that it was newly opened when we came here, it looked really modern and fresh. We didn't really find anything that sounded amazing on the menu so we went with the mushroom steak and the mushroom burger. The mushroom steak/patty was delicious and I highly recommend it. We felt like dessert but all the cakes looked quite dry so we skipped it.

Best Khao Soi and Spring rolls in Chiang Mai! Service was good but a bit slow at first, the flavour of the food more than made up wait. Big services, highly recommend Goodsouls Kitchen.

Good vibes - Edit
Went here just for a snack so we just ordered the country fries and a hibiscus iced tea. We asked for no curry powder on the fries which they were happy to accommodate. The bill came to 160 thb which could be seen as pricey or reasonable considering the location. The portion sizes were good and the homemade veganaise that came with the fries was really good.
Read moreThe staff were warm and friendly, although a little inattentive considering we were one of the only customers there.
They kindly told us about a vegan buffet happening on New Year's Eve for 450 thb per person from 7pm until midnight, which we thought was cool and could be a good deal depending on how much one can eat.
Would definitely come back for a proper meal at some point and update this review based on the experience.
Pros: Good food, Location and atmosphere, Friendly staff
Cons: Pricey

First time I went to Goodsouls was on the second day after their opening, and I've been coming back over and over again. The food is prepared with a lot of love, they serve generous portions and I can taste the good quality of the ingredients. The service is top and the atmosphere is cozy and warm. Definitely one of my absolute top favorite vegan restaurants in Chiang Mai.

A difficult place in a highly competitive market. - Edit
Often, when a new restaurant opens, you get a few overly-positive reviews (either because the reviewers are friends of the owners or, sincerely enough, due to hype). Goodsouls is a nicely-decorated restaurant (a bit more of a corporate diner feel than most in Chiang Mai) but it's competing in a marketplace with many, many nicely-decorated vegan restaurants. The menu's strength is presumably in the hamburger and french fries department (NOT the Thai noodles or mango-and-sticky-rice) but within a short walk of this establishment there are many competing sources of vegan hamburgers. Is the cake excellent? No, no it is not. Are the prices okay? Yes, they're okay. Goodsouls is just getting started, but they need to make difficult (strategic) decisions to distinguish themselves, and to be excellent at something in particular. Currently, it would be hard to recommend this place, and it's hard for me to convince myself to return (although it's a nice enough vegan restaurant). If they're just another place offering 120 baht mango and sticky rice (and 70+/80+ baht fruit smoothies) then they'll fade into the "just another place" category, to be sure. A nice restaurant surrounded by nice competition. ;-)

I'd just like to clarify I'm not a friend of the owner or anything else you are trying to assume. I've been in town for 2 weeks now and this place is my opinion is great. Please don't try to discredit others reviews. Enjoy your time in Chiang Mai :)

And what would that nicely decorated competition be that serves Vegan burgers as tasty as GoodSouls.? The prices are competitive for the quality of the ingredients and the clean stylish atmosphere they have created. BTW, the sticky rice and mango is 95 baht there.

I do not know the restaurant's owners' in any other capacity than as a customer. My review is not biased. I am keen to give them publicity because they genuinely deserve it. Much of what you've written is ridiculous. Firstly, they do not sell a 'hamburger' or french fries. They sell burgers which showcase vegetables such as mushrooms or beetroot and are not fake meats like so many of the other places sell. Also they have proper chunky chips not thin french fries. There are loads of places around selling vegan burgers, some of which are pretty good but none that match Goodsouls and certainly none that other three different burger types from the one restaurant!! As for the mango sticky rice, of course it will be more than buying it from some street cart or whatever. This is a classy, sit-down restaurant. The thing that makes this restaurant great is that they offer dishes that CANNOT BE FOUND in other restaurants, I'm not quite sure how you missed that. Pretty sure they won't just 'fade out' as that is not what happened with their other branch, quite the opposite, it was so popular that they had to open another.

It would be much better if you posted examples to support your claims, especially when other locals are not agreeing with your arguments. Nothing is able to please everyone, and your not so happy review is important, just support it more and try to be accurate.

Wow, we need more of this - Edit
We've been there twice already since their grand opening last Wednesday. Finally a Vegan restaurant in Chiang Mai that can appeal to everyone (My wife is a non vegetarian foodie and she was very impressed). The menu is varied with a wide selection of Thai and Western dishes and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the owners are lovely people. We also love the ambience and classy decor atypical of what you might find in other vegan restaurants. We will definitely be back as often as possible!
