Rich flavours! - Edit
We didn’t book a table, big mistake as it was packed. However they do offer seating at the bar for drop in guests, yey! Food was lovely! Would recommend their tacos for sure!

Perfect for vegan date nights! - Edit
It’s a fantastic atmosphere with good food and beautiful plates. It’s a little more upscale but has an excellent selection of vegan Mexican dishes and craft cocktails.

Even Non vegan friendly! - Edit
The patio and ambience are as good as the food. “Crab” cakes are a must, as is the guacamole and burrito. Great cocktails and wine choice.

My Favourite Vegan Restaurant in the World - Edit
Even if my HappyCow reviews don't reflect it (I'm working on it now though) I've been to most highly rated Vegan restaurants in "big cities".. While there are many amazing 5 star restaurants with amazing food, Gracias Madre is definitely my favorite. The food is simply amazing, and the venue itself is also great (I've also been to the SF one, and the location is not at nice as the WeHo one).
Read moreThey have the best green juice, the nachos are also top #2 (along with Jajaja in NYC) and the Caesar salad is to die for.. and so are the Tacos. I've been to the restaurant 3 times since 2017 and all were absolutely amazing.
I can't forget to also mention the crab cakes or the flan.... they are so damn good.
Pros: BEST FOOD EVER
Cons: The fact that I have to fly 15 hours to eat it :)

Best restaurant or my life - Edit
Went there September 2018 and didn't have HappyCow back then. Still think about this restaurant so thought I would leave a review. The tastiest, most amazing food I've had in my life. Much better than other "fancier" vegan in the city. Please go.

100% organic vegan YAY!!! - Edit
Probably the best guacamole and tacos I’ve ever had! The tortillas were soft and fresh. The drinks were also great and so was the tres leches cake. The atmosphere is pretty fun too.I recommend you make a reservation, it was nice to walk in and be taken directly to a table instead of standing around and waiting like several people were 😬

Disappointed - Edit
The place is absolutely beautiful, the service was very friendly and the menu looked great. But from the 4 items we’ve ordered, I only liked one - the tortilla soup (it was really good!). The rest just didn’t have much flavor at all (maybe we’ve ordered the wrong items?) and for $20-$22 a dish, it had absolutely nothing special about it. The Brussels sprouts and the cauliflower we ordered almost had no seasoning at all. I really loved the place itself but would not come back for food, unfortunately.

Very bland - Edit
Super confused by all the positive ratings. The atmosphere is cute so maybe that’s why people like it? I appreciate what the restaurant is trying to be but couldn’t believe how dull the food was. My table had the nachos and wet burrito, things that typically are not difficult to make taste good and these tasted like nothing.

Yummy vegan Mexican food- but pricey - Edit
We enjoyed our meals at Gracias Madre, especially the overall vibe and the tres leches cake. The entrees and drinks were good, but felt a little overpriced for what we actually got. We loved the outdoor patio and how many choices there are on the menu.

Fully vegan Mexican restaurant in the heart of West Hollywood.

The food was well worth the money. We got the Wet Burrito and the Uno Bowl. The wet burrito comes with jack fruit, guacamole and an assortment of veggies. It was absolutely delicious. You have to eat it with a fork because it’s a bit messy! The uno bowl came with soy chorizo and was delectable. Both dishes were equally as tasty.
Service****
Quick and friendly service. We were approached right away and given a bottle of water. Our service never lagged and the waitress was very friendly.
Atmosphere****
Cute and cozy atmosphere. There is metered street parking and a few lots nearby. The tables are appropriately distanced. It’s required to show vaccine card when entering.

What vegan food should be! - Edit
Meat replacement “products” need not apply at this fresh first, spice forward Mexican themed restaurant! I had the margarita followed rice and beans enchiladas and mushroom “chicken mole” Deserts shared afterwards finely crafted and superb.

Disappointed :( - Edit
I was really looking forward to this. First we had to wait too long to be taken to our table that they clearly had many available on the side patio. The side patio (where we had booked since main one was full) was maybe the biggest disappointment. The table sat furthest out, with no decorations around it. Waiter came to our table looking at his machine and didn’t even address us at first. We weren’t asked what we wanted to drink.. food was good but nothing special. Sparkling water (soda water? - I don’t know, he plonked it on the table and was on his way) might have been filtered or not. The great thing was that there was menu with all ingredients available as well. Loved that detail. Maybe inside or main patio are worth trying if we get to go next time.

I go here for special occasions as it’s definitely pricey (for me) but yooooo seriously it’s worth it. The (outdoor patio) atmosphere is very nice. The food is great. I’ve liked everything I’ve ordered from here. I take my non vegan parents and they love it. This is my favorite spot to go to as a nice treat.

beautiful restaurant, food is hit or miss - Edit
Their patio area is beautiful! I've tried lots of different dishes here, and honestly none of it's ever made me want to come back for the food (but end up coming back anyway to eat with a group). It's not bad by any means but nothing was that impressive.

Vegetarian-Mexican - Edit
If you love Mexican food, it you’re a vegetarian or vegan, this is the place for you. It is trendy, so be prepared for this. Also, the portions are small.
Read moreMy only real gripe is that you have to pay for the tortilla chips, and not that good...
Outside of this you can't really complain. The food is a fusion in style, as you can't point point where the food comes from. You can't tell what regions the food comes from. I grew up in Los Angeles and I honestly know Mexican food, I do love it. Gracias Madre is tasty. I’ve only been a vegetarian for 10 months... so I am still new to it.
Pros: Amazing Menu., Plenty of options., Takes food allergies seriously.
Cons: Small portions., The chips., Can’t pinpoint which region the food comes from.
