The food is very tasty and satisfying. We had frickin burger, pasta of the day and loaded fries. A bit pricey, but that seems to be the way when dining out in New Zealand.

Pretty Good - Edit
100% vegan, good flavour (we got the KFT chips) but partner found the seitan to be a bit too much. Price also seems a bit expensive for what it is, but after looking at the menu online we had a feeling no prices meant higher prices. We are not fine diners by any means so take “expensive” as you will.

Non fake meat options yum - Edit
A lot of the menu contains fake meat (seitan), which I just don’t like. But I do like the few options without any fake meat - fries, coffee especially, and on my last visit I tried the soup of the day (Indian potato, pea and spinach - quite spicy, but tasty and a big portion with bread).

Cons: No cabinet food any more , Too much fake meat, Too much beer in beer batter imo

Nice, chilled vegan spot - Edit
This place has been a favourite of ours for a few years now, especially the KFT!! They sometimes have live music, plus the occasional event as well. It's not cheap to eat here, but it's definitely worth a visit.

Worth checking out in Christchurch - Edit
This place is a bit off the beaten track in Christchurch…but worth the effort of finding it. Great fully plant based place, with lovely staff, small shop and a great menu

Used to be good - Edit
I was a regular at GG for a long time. I stopped going for the last year, so when I was finally able to go go eat I was so happy!!
Read moreI went in for a Sunday lunch, it wasn't iverly busy, 2 other tables. My partner and I ordered our food. I noticed our food was taking a while, so I asked the waitress where our food was ( a beetroot salad and a burger) we were told it was up next.. after 45 mins our food arrived. It looked good. After a few bites I noticed a charred flavour in my food, and then found a burned piece of beetroot... then more. Most of them were burnt. I showed the waitress, to which she snatched up my plate and said she would be taking it off the bill and walked off. No offer of a replacement or anything. So I had to sit and watch my partner eat her burger. I posted a review to which they replied that they were busy and no one else complained about the salad.
So, after a few years of mismanagement, this place has just gone down the drain. They just don't care about their customers or their food.
I will not be returning to Grater Goods and would recommend others don't.

Delicious comfort food - Edit
We loved everything we got, Sunday roast burger, mushroom fettuccine, cheeseburger loaded fries, crem brulee and vegan pate! It all came out pretty fast which was appreciated because it was dinner time and we hadn't eaten since around 5am.

Lovely casual spot - Edit
Bit out of the city but worth the walk over the bridge. We had the charcuterie board that was well priced and a few glasses of a lovely wine. The hot meals we saw coming out looked good. Very relaxed atmosphere the venue was casual more of a cafe than a nice restaurant but made a cute enough spot for a date. They had a fridge with their produce and a nice range of vegan bits to go.

Best vegan food that we tried in Chch. The burgers are 10/10 but the pizza loaded fries, which I think were a weekly special, were heavenly! Really nice dining experience and vibe.

Had the best vegan burger of my life here (other than ones cooked at home). Super friendly staff who made us feel at home and were knowledgeable and kind. Loads of boutique vegan products from fake meats and cheeses to jerky and chocolates. Highly recommended!

We ordered the polenta fries, the Reuben and the Fricken burger. All were delicious! We were super impressed by the cheese in the Reuben. The cafe itself had a great vibe and was nice and cool on a hot day. It was my partners first time at a vegan Cafe and he loved it!

Amazing place - Edit
The restaurant is located just a few blocks outside the city center of Christchurch. The place has a really cool vibe with quite an unique industrial interior. Inside they have a dining area as well as a little corner in which they sell different vegan goodies including their selfmade vegan meat alternatives and cheeses as well as antipasti and pesto (huge recommendation). Our absolute favorite was their antipasti plate. It is bit on the more expensive side, but the taste was incredible. Definitely one of the best vegan options we had in all of New Zealand!

Vegan Industrial Charm - Edit
I was relieved to find Grater Goods was in fact there as I wandered through the industrial area and wondered if my navigation was off. On arrival the former glass workshop had been transformed into a welcoming space. Helpful staff offered me a table and I was soon eating a tasty Parma burger (specials menu) and fries. Both were tasty, but unfortunately I had no room for the crème brûlée that I really wanted to try! I would like to come back and eat here again. Lots of the menu included mock meat, and I would like it if there were a greater selection of non mock meat options.

Great place😄 - Edit
Overall a great place and I love their products even more than the cafe. The place is a bit big and it was cold when we came last month. Prices are pretty expensive for what you get. For example, my partner ordered the special burger and it came empty on a plate. Could’ve added a few salad leaves or potatoes to make it a bit more worthwhile for the price.
Read moreI didn’t love the sandwich. It felt greasy and a bit too heavy. I wish the food was a bit more refined and $7.50 for a croissant or pain au chocolate is just ridiculous!
Amazing chai though!
Pros: Chai was great , Love their products , Fully vegan
Cons: Expensive , Huge warehouse but few tables & chairs
