Member-owned cooperative market stocking fresh fruits and vegetables in cluding organic, deli foods, vitamins, natural grocery, and more. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-9:00pm.
We had delicious tempeh blt, garlic fries, and peanut udon salad. Everything was delicious!! I would love to come back and try more, I didn’t even scratch the surface
Listen, I don’t typically leave bad reviews, especially on Happy Cow, but I was lulled into unrealistic expectations by the other reviews for this market.
First, I will say that I didn’t buy groceries here, I just went for quick grab and go food. The store itself looks lovely and I’m sure is a boon to the Greenfield community.
The food from the deli was downright inedible. The smoothies were the texture of vomit and tasted like overripe fruit that should have just ended up in the compost. The hummus wrap was clearly made *at least* a day ago and was 90% lettuce and onions. The vegan parfait was the only thing that wasn’t just disgusting.
My Omni friend had similarly bad things to say about the non-vegan options.
Really disappointing. I probably won’t try this place again.
…as well as shopping, but I’ve always found delicious food at the deli and hot/salad bar to take to the cute outdoor seating area or one of the indoor tables. Great variety of grocery items, gorgeous produce, plentiful locally grown and produced food. The people are always super friendly and helpful. The prices can be high. Love that it’s co-operatively owned.
I’ve been a member for over 2 years and I’ve watched the Co-op bring in vegan choices, increasing the choices as people suggest. There’s always something in the hot food bar and soups. The prices aren’t as cheap as box stores, but are better than most other Heath food/co-ops in the area. The staff is great. They rotate specials that include vegan options on a regular basis. Their produce is local and fresh. It’s open long hours 7 days a week. It’s definitely worth a stop!
Since these last two comments greenfields market has greatly increased its vegan options- it now features a whole vegetarian sandwich section, my favorite is the tempeh blt. There is also a pre-made food section that features a lot of vegan items. The store itself has a very large amount of vegan items with all types of vegan substitutes including a rlly nice vegan cheese selection. There is also a vegan soup and a vegan muffin made fresh every day. This place definitely deserves a visit if your in greenfield looking for a quick bite!!
From a vegan's perspective, lots of problems with this place. First, it has an awful background stench - I don't know of what, but most definitely not something healthy. Second, it has limited vegan options. Third, the prices are through the roof, for the most part. Fourth, the buffet lunch has limited vegan options and they are typically prepared mediocrely. And fifth, on enough occasions to make this comment statistically valid, the checkout is absolutely interminably frustratingly agonizingly slow. And for good measure, their coffee is abysmal - burnt and stale.
The co-op deli is not vegan friendly. Most of the menu is typical American meat based sandwiches, boring and uncreative in this age of amazing plant based cuisine. They even recently removed one of their few veg choices, a pretty good vegan burger. The take out offerings are about 99% meat and again the one or two vegan options are uninspired and always the same (a hummus wrap and a bland mushroom roll up). The prepared food section is better, with a variety of tofu creations, salads and noodles. Great house made hummus. The grocery store is ok, but again limited. One or two non dairy milk choices in the cooler, when there so many varieties today. Plenty of meat, dairy and eggs. I wish a fully vegan, cruelty free grocery chain would open in this area!
