Wild mushroom soup & fried tofu - Edit
Really tasty and good value. Flavour was perfect. This is one of the better meals I've had in japan.

One tasty vegan option - Edit
Current menu has only one but tasty and decently sized vegan option - a couple of tofu and avocado spring rolls with two salads and a portion of rice.
Read morePros: Tasty and fresh meal, Pleasant relaxing atmosphere, Good service
Cons: Only one vegan option, No vegan milk (at the time)

Old veggie menu is gone! Tasty, not filling, 1 drink per head - Edit
The separate vegetarian/vegan menu doesn't exist now! There's a few veggie options as starters - but no veggie mains on the new menu.
Read moreThey'll try to create something on the old menu if you ask.
Set meal for 2000 (drink, soup, spring rolls/tofu hamburger) doesn't seem like great value - soup works out at 1000JPY (maybe it's great, don't know).
Have to order one drink per person, which are at least 600JPY. There is free water you can help yourself to... But you do have to get a drink per person
Steamed veggies, spring rolls, mushroom salad, apple juice, and apple sangria came to 2940. Very tasty & umami with the dips, but do consider ordering rice (350) if you want to be full.
Felt like Fukutara (5 mins walk away) was more filling, very tasty, and cheaper. Probably try both restaurants if you're here for 2 nights. Chamise is great for some french toast if you're vegetarian - just next to this place too.
Pros: Tasty umami
Cons: Have to order 1 drink per person (600jpy), Not filling, Old veggie menu doesn't exist now

Friendly and great staff - Edit
What a nice find! Pretry much in the middle of the little town. As vegan, the owner told us what he could do for us. We took marinated veggies and it was real good. Really friendly and great. They do sell meat tough

Great place - Edit
Really friendly and accommodating staff that spoke English quite well. After discovering our group of 4 were vegan they went out of their way to make an off menu dish for our dinner. After going back for lunch the next day he pointed out a number of things on the lunch menu that were vegan friendly so we had more options to choose from! We loved it so much we went back for dinner that night too. Super tasty pasta, gnocchi, dumplings and potato wedges!

The best/only place in town. - Edit
The other cafe in town has vegetarian options which involve bread (the bread contains milk). We went to Hakko three times over 2 days. Very friendly English speaking stuff that were willing to accomodate to vegan options. First night we had vegan gnocchi, the next day for lunch we had vegan Spaghetti and vegetable dumplings and for dinner of the 2nd day we had gnocchi but they changed the sauce to make it different for us.

Very Accommodating - Edit
The staff were so extremely friendly and happy to make us vegetable dishes. We have 5 courses in total, small portions but a great place for vegans in the small town. Highly recommend

Only one choice (but a really good one) - Edit
We went at 2pm and found a cozy, beautifully hipster-ish restaurant that had very friendly and helpful English-speaking staff.
Read moreWe asked for something vegan and the waitress told us that they could prepare a lunch set. We roughly listed what we couldn't eat and after a short wait she brought out an amazing salad, very tasty mushroom miso soup and a plate if tofu, scrumptious veggies and rice. The portion size was pretty good and it only cost 1.000¥ taxes.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
Pros: really really good
Cons: no options
