Bogotá Does Not Disappoint 🫶🏽 - Edit
On my way out of Colombia after 3 months here and I just had to leave the airport to come try one more place in the best city for vegan food in the country.
Read moreThe lunch special is the best deal on the menu, offering a creamy soup of the day (black bean purée today💫), a drink (choice of lulo juice or ginger panela lemonade), and the main (3 enchiladas today!). I paid 23K and did not at all regret it. The food is spectacular, although heavily salted. What they lacked in careful seasoning though, they made up in the plate composition, sauces, and the creamy, decadent gelatos and wonderfully balanced cakes. 🫔🌮🍨🍰
My honest rating food wise is 4.5⭐️, but they also sell lots of vegan grocery items and even clothes and other environmental things. Lots of seating and decent prices. No extra charge for using card or Apple Pay. ✅
There was a dessert special today as well. The ice cream is usually 7,900cop and the cake I think the same or not far off; but a slice of any cake of your choice and any ice cream is 10,890cop. Again, did not regret that decision. The chocolate ginger icecream doesn’t at all taste of ginger- thank goodness for me. Among the other flavors that blew me away were the coconut and the mouthfeel of the pineapple spear mint one. Heavenly. 🍍

Good food, poor service - Edit
This restaurant is beautiful and very spacious. Maybe because of that, service was not very good - nobody came to assist me at any point, even though there were a lot of employees there and I was the only customer when I arrived. It was strange, especially because I saw them assisting other people later. Anyway, I ordered directly at the cashier based on what I could see on display and managed to get some food. I had two different types of empanadas, one filled with rice, beans and pico de gallo, and the other one with potato and mushrooms. Both were tasty and not expensive, but nothing too special. For dessert, I had a slice of cake with ice cream. The cake was a bit dry but good, and the ice cream was absolutely delicious! The flavor I chose was peanut with cookies, and it was a great combination.
