Rather disappointing experience - Edit
Stopped in during a trip to the Dells. The online reviews I saw mentioned High Rock Cafe being vegan-friendly, so I was excited to try the place.
Read moreWe came on a Wednesday evening and were told it'd be a 25 minute wait. Gave the host our number and were added to the wait list. While waiting we got a text update that we've been served, which was odd as we were still waiting at the bar for our table. Somehow we got removed from the wait list. After speaking with the staff, they re-added us to the list.
I let our waitress know I'm vegan, and she was knowledgeable about what menu items could be made vegan - she mentioned the salads, a pasta dish, and a wrap could be modified vegan. I ordered the Primavera Valley Wrap, omitting the cheese and substituting white balsamic for the garlic aioli. The vegetables in the wrap were seasoned, which I appreciated. About halfway through eating the wrap, I came across a rather hard piece of food in the wrap. When I took it out, I couldn't identify it, which was a bit unsettling.
Although thankful the restaurant was able to make vegan modifications, between what happened with the wait list and the hard piece of food I found in my wrap, unfortunately I left the restaurant feeling rather disappointed.
