New plant based protein! - Edit
I recently checked out the north side location of Illegal Pete’s and was really impressed with how vegan-friendly it has become.
Read moreThey’ve added a new plant-based option called “Taco Night,” made from mushrooms, and it’s an excellent meat alternative. It’s soy- and gluten-free, and the texture and flavor are surprisingly close to classic taco meat.
The burritos are massive and super customizable, with plenty of filling options to mix and match. One standout is the option to smother your burrito in vegan green chili, which feels pretty unique and takes it to another level.
I also really enjoyed the outdoor seating. It’s a great setup for a relaxed meal, especially on a nice day.
Overall, a solid spot if you’re looking for satisfying, plant-based comfort food without sacrificing flavor.

Better than Chipotle - Edit
This place has a vegan green chili that adds a good flavor to the food so it’s not bland like Chipotle; however, there are no vegan protein options on their list. Maybe you could ask for extra beans?
